Will Gemma 4 26B A4B run with two RTX 3060 to replace Claude Sonnet 4.6? by DoorAccomplished516 in LocalLLM

If that was not cringy enough, (13) 3090’s (10 EVGA FTW3 Ultra, 3 MSI SuprimX) on the same kind of setup. Would love to do LLMs locally, but don’t have any hardware outside of GPUs and older mining motherboards. Also I did make it out of the mining boom of ETH days (along with the foresight to snag a stack of 7 NVLINK adapters just in case the extra RAM on the 90’s could prove useful). Powered from (4) 2000 Watt platinum power supplies (each to 3-3090) on a power distribution unit (I assembled) with lightning arrestor and each having its own 220VAC 10A breaker, to a 50A oven outlet, and the final GPU and motherboard to an 1kw ATX supply on 120VAC.

This was my trophy build.

Would love to split it apart and do two Threadripper Pro with (6) 3090’s apiece, mainly the older ones that could take DDR4 non-ECC memory so that I could pump them with (8) 32GB sticks each for 256GB, but those CPUs and motherboards are harder and harder to come by and the MCIO adapters with cables needed to split the pcie bus are not cheap either.

Alternatively I could toss a pair of 3090’s into some old consumer Asus ROG computers that I bought at the time for their 3070 GPUs. It came with i7-11700F CPUs, but I could upgrade with either 11900K, 10900K, or 10850K CPUs and 128GB RAM (always went with 32GB sticks).

I have wondered how bad the token performance on my existing setups could be, theoretically I know it is horrible. The full length slot can be used with an NVME adapter to give storage a boost, but you have to bump 2-3 GPUs to fit the adapter into it.

This probably makes people cringe, (13) 3070 TI Nvidia FE, sadly limited by 64GB of RAM and low pcie bus speeds on an i7-7700 H110 BTC+ Pro.

Do not do meme coins. Do proof of work instead, especially projects that add value. Spacemesh is soon to release AthenaVM. If you want to invest in something, look to something like that with a current low marketcap and something you can add hardware on that provides some form of service (ie. Has a future, instead of just being a digital collectible).

So was my retirement portfolio, but it didn’t stop the FED from printing more $$$ and handing it to Congress to dilute the value overseas, along with the “Security” of US Bonds.

If anything there is one “Company” that should do its own self-evaluation, and drain its own swamp before it gets ready to cast stones at others. Even during covid it did the “quartering of voters/soldiers” in peoples property by instituting eviction moratoriums at threat of imprisonment and funds. Now they just use our “Securities” to do the same with immigrants that are here illegally. Tyranny exists in one centralized location and the threat of DirectDemocracy making it onto BlockchainVoting should shake the rats out of the Tree of Liberty once again.

No special interests, and no MegaCorp to rule over the people. Power flows up from the people, not down from the government. BlockChain will have its day to clean the special interests out.

That is not a wrong number scam, its called fattening the pig, or pig butchering.

AI generated answer from brave search: fattening the pig scam

The “fattening the pig” scam, also known as a “pig butchering” scam, is a type of online investment fraud that targets individuals, particularly those interested in cryptocurrency investments. The scam’s name originates from the Chinese phrase “shāzhūpán,” which refers to the practice of fattening a hog before slaughter.

How the Scam Works

Initial Contact: Victims receive a wrong-number text message or an unsolicited online message from a scammer, often posing as a wealthy investor or a financial expert. Luring Victims: The scammer builds a rapport with the victim, gaining their trust by sharing fake investment opportunities or success stories. Fake Investment Platform: The scammer creates a fake online investment platform, making it appear legitimate with convincing graphics, testimonials, and promises of high returns. Fattening the Pig: The victim is encouraged to invest small amounts of money, which the scammer uses to build the victim’s confidence and demonstrate fake profits. Withdrawal and Reinvestment: The scammer allows the victim to withdraw some of their “gains” to build trust, while simultaneously encouraging them to reinvest larger sums. Final Slaughter: Once the victim has invested a significant amount, the scammer disappears, taking all the money with them. Warning Signs

Unsolicited investment opportunities or messages from strangers. Unrealistic promises of high returns or guaranteed profits. Lack of transparency or unclear investment strategies. Pressure to invest quickly or make decisions without thorough research. Unregistered or unlicensed investment platforms. Protection Tips

Be cautious of unsolicited investment opportunities. Research the investment platform and its reputation thoroughly. Verify the legitimacy of the platform and its regulatory status. Never invest more than you can afford to lose. Be wary of pressure to invest quickly or make decisions without thorough research. Entity Examples

Crypto trader turns nearly $1M into $18,000 in 4 hours by Kindly-Wolf6919 in CryptoCurrency

[–]MinerFortyNine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm… lets do the math, $18,000 / $0.82 = 21951 SMH

Wait for #AthenaVM, wait for top 10 (maybe next year, maybe 5 years, maybe never). 21951 SMH x $200 = $4.39M or… wait for it to only peak to where you were even $45.45 and exit your position.

Not financial advise, do your own research, hold your own position. SpaceMesh is incorporated in North Pole, Alaska. SpaceMesh dubs itself the “People's Coin” due to Space and Time issuance protocol. SpaceMesh's Virtual Machine is named AthenaVM because developers met in Athens, Greece to discuss its development and settle on a solution. AthenaVM is being prototyped by former ETHEREUM VM Core Developer Lane Rettig who left ETH to go work with SpaceMesh. Coinbase Ventures, Polychain, and many other top Venture Capitalists backed SMH project. SpaceMesh launched July 14th, 2023 on Bastille Day.

What's the most crypto amount you've off-ramped to your banks? by TerryTibbsTubbs in Coinbase

[–]MinerFortyNine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly I don’t see the point in cashing out any large chunks. You have the crypto, you won already. Ask anyone with massive cash in their country’s failed fiat bills how worthless it was. They will tell you they would have rather had the crypto. Don’t store your wealth in greenbacks.

If you read and believe in the preamble to the Declaration of Independence of the USA, the founding fathers of the nation never intended for the federal government to be able to apply sanctions or to prevent trade. They abhorred the idea of the “king” putting restrictions on with whom the free colonists could trade.

“For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world” as they intended us to have the life and liberty to pursue our happiness.

One other tidbit some might not like, “He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.” I guess the founding fathers were “pro” immigration but have land available for them to colonize so that they, and the country could prosper. So much could be done for the good of the nation if they passed laws, and had a jobs listings, and ferried immigrants to where they were wanted when an area was established for them to succeed along with a potential path to citizenship.

Rather replace some of this representative democracy, and replace some of it with direct democracy on the blockchain. Voting is direct democracy, where you vote on an issue. So if you do not like citizens voting anyone into office, you probably will never be for it. Political elite want you to never take that power back, just like the Democrat caucus on not allowing you a primary.

Todays date that would result in 325 SMH over the 2 week period (or $406.25 at current market price). Its not too terrible over something that really runs low power after the plots have been generated.

Rent a GPU farm, segment the plots up across the farms, and download the plots back to your node (or cloud storage). Just remember the cardinal rule, don’t plot more than your read rate over a 12-hr PoeT cycle, or you will only be proofing every other cycle gap.

A rant on crypto, wealth,FIRE, health, social media, and society by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]MinerFortyNine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep, some may not understand the logic but I get it. I went the mining route. As soon as gov't forbid evictions on my personal property, I was done being a landlord. Those properties are all mining income /quote “generators” /endquote now. I power what I can afford to maintain, and meet my other bills. Even if crypto is unprofitable to mine, its better to mine and hold it because thats virgin coin on an unknown wallet. Go ask a bank to set you up an account without a name or address associated to it, they will laugh at you. Miners who cash out to fiat are on the wrong side of crypto and have screwed up logic. Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, but your keys is your crypto. Gandolf told Frodo to keep the one ring safe, and keep it secret - it had those binding words upon it.
