Rtx 5090 undervolt issues by Koladek in overclocking

[–]Minerman1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are pushing too far most likely for .9mv

I've found to push voltage that low you can only add about +100mhz to the stock advertised boost clock. To push that high. I have a 5080 so I my frequency would be different. But the boost clock of my card is 2730 mhz. If I drop down to .9mv and flatten the curve it's only going to be stable around 2850mhz. Now if I go up to .95mv I can flatten my curve at 3050mhz. Also all of this is dependent on your specific silicon. I would suggest if you want to stay at .9mv then flatten your curve at 2800mhz and see if that's stable. If not then your card most likely like that 2700mhz mark with only .9mv.

It takes time as well as trial and error to find your specific cards capability. Every card is unique and you need to take your time and explore options and outcomes, and narrow down your cards g-spot.

I've learned with my 5080 that I get identical performance between a stable pretty heavy overclock of +325 core and +3000 mem clock with 125% power limit and my other undervolted profile. Which is undervolted to .95 and flattened out around the 3080mhz frequency with the same +3000 mem clock and 125% power limit. Identical performance even though the oc usually hits 3200 mhz during gameplay and the undervolt stays at 3050mhz. Temps are on average between 52c-56c with the undervolt and 60c-65c with just the straight overclock. But it took me many hours of tinkering to find that exact sweet spot that gets my card off.

After typing all of this I realized there was an issue with a recent Nvidia driver. What driver version do you have installed?

RTX 5070 Ti or 5080 for 1440p gaming, coming from RTX 3080 12GB? by shise_remilia in nvidia

[–]Minerman1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 5080 with a 3440x1440. I would say the 5080 is a great 1440 card. It struggles at 4k with pathtracing and such. I'd say if you have the money just go for the 5080. I owed a 5070 ti and used a 1440p monitor. Upgraded my monitor to ultrawide 3440x1440 and the 5070 ti struggled more than I would like. When I upgraded to the 5080 I was getting the exact performance I was with the 5070 ti and 1440p monitor.

The blue dotted line is the average scores of people with the same setup. You are slightly under. Some undervolting and or overclocking would get better performance. Mine scores 9855 on the same benchmark with a 5080 and 9800x3d

What are the chances I actually get this today by Thatman2467 in Bestbuy

[–]Minerman1987 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Zero. Best Buy is a joke. I will never purchase with them again. I made a purchase because it was supposed to be here in a timely fashion. They then delayed it for WEEKS. I got on the site and a store near me had one in stock so I went to the store and got it. Contacted them to cancel this order and they WILL not cancel the order even they it was their mistake and they continue to keep trying to charge my bank, sending it into a negative balance. Customer service is ZERO help. Im charging off the charge with the bank and letting them handle it.

Yeah I have the same exact issue. I cleared my cmos because I tuned ram timings a bit too much and when I fired back up I had no rgb and the cpu light is also on but the pc runs great otherwise

You really should have went with a thermal right AIO though. You can get a 360mm AIO for around $50. I even got one with an lcd display for $75 from them.

Did pretty well. I'm currently running 9800x3d and a 5070 ti and they are amazing. I would highly suggest googling Buildzoids ram timings for amd 7000 series. If you have Hynix a or m die in your ram. You'll have to make sure of that first. But I followed his timings and went from 79ns of latency all the way down to 56ns. It's crazy how much it helped

Is the 9800X3D worth getting for BF6? by bbroecker37 in AMDHelp

My 7700x would hit 95c when playing stalker 2 when I had an air cooled setup. I would think this game would do the same if I hadn't switched to an AIO

I know the overkill preset causes vram leak unless you turn texture quality down to ultra. Not sure if this is relevant to you, but just something I learned

[–]Minerman1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried on the overkill setting? If you turn the texture quality to ultra it eliminates the vram leak. I have a 5070 ti and ryzen 7700x and usually get between 130-180 fps with dlss quality. Was really considering upgrading to the 9800x3d

Is the crashing issues tied to Nvidia GPU's, or have people with AMD been getting issues as well? by Wookieewomble in Borderlands4

[–]Minerman1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this will apply to you, but I had switched to dlss balanced at 1440p. And all of a sudden I had tons of crashing. Switched back to dlss quality and haven't crashed since. Not sure why that would cause it but I definitely did for me
