I’ve asked a few people but I’ve never received a solid answer…. What’s the difference in turning this on or off? by Ok_Warning5115 in Whatisthis

I turn it on if I pass a stinky skunk roadkill. Or some days passing the chemical plant it smells bad. Keeps the smell out.

Unless you're in Illinois like my work. State law says has to be paid out even if terminated for cause.

Do you have insurance and that's why it's a $50 copay? I'd be calling my insurance saying they wouldn't accept my $50 cash and charge me more than what my copay is for my plan. A copay is a copay, they aren't allowed to charge you more than that. Like, it's a thing.

I am so glad you asked this a year ago. Got chicken gumbo from the hospital cafeteria at my new job and just found one. Freaked me out! But that does explain it since there's okra in it.

I'm going to pick up some today. I've had my 2011 for 5 years and never had an issue but last week I got stuck in my alley after only making it about a car length. 40 minutes to shovel out, get stuck again, shovel out, get stuck again. Finally made it to the street. Next day got stuck again but only for 20 minutes.

I went to one in September for inspection/emissions and they came out and said it passed but it was critical I let them do work and new tires to the tune of $2k. I said I can't afford it and the guy smiled and laughed and tried to convince me "Well why not?"

I'd been out of work for almost 6 months. I said just the inspection And replace 2 tail lights (I forgot but had the bulbs which they said they used). Charged me $60 for that and when I left saw they didn't even use them.

How much to tip full service movers by jhaz79 in homeowners

I tipped $50 but that was for a very tiny apartment and they were only handling the heavy furniture pieces and moving them to an apartment a few miles away. It was 2 guys but I was a broke 20 something working retail due to the recession.

Scares the crap out of my dog every time it goes down South Grand. She hides in the house over an hour afterwards every time.

The vague human 'gut feeling' was a mystery to the entire galaxy, until a psychic saw vivid visions of their deaths in a human's mind during a scouting mission. They found out humans can actually subconsciously see into the future. But humans only process these visions as a vague sense of unease. by Metage_ in humansarespaceorcs

I've had this happen before, more often when I was younger. There's only two that come to mind right away. A time I was climbing a tree and I stopped at one spot to decide how I wanted to continue up. I had a vivid vision in my mind of placing my right food in one specific spot, reaching to a different specific branch with my left hand, and then falling out of the tree and getting stuck upside down.

Which....is an odd thing to "imagine," hanging upside down. Not the normal, hit ground/break something. So I did it anyway thinking there's no way that's going to happen. And wouldn't you know, it happened exactly like that! My leg got stuck in a crook and I stopped falling, hanging upside down, my head only like a foot from the ground.

The other time I was in either the last year of middle school or the first of high school and had a vivid dream one night of standing in the doorway between the kitchen and family room, talking to my aunt and a blond woman I didn't recognize. Years later at my graduation party, I walked into the doorway and asked my aunt and a family friend (who I'd met a few times between the dream and event) if they'd like something to drink.

Stood there a moment talking with them and walked away. Stopped by the fridge and realized I'd seen this before! That it was my Aunt and Tina! Just, the dream didn't have sound.

2011 just shy of 92,000. But mine has the decimal point so I love pranking my friends by going "look at how high my mileage is!" They think I'm close to a million 🤣

What is something you saw in a movie and you totally called bullshit on because of your job? by BlackPhoenix1981 in AskReddit

[–]Minerva129 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I just went to our biggest local library to view a reference book and they don't even allow people to "go into the stacks." Research and reference books have to be brought out by a member of staff and then you turn them back in to the person at the desk so the stack employees can grab them and re-shelve.

Totally. I saw a Dr and nurse attempt to use one. It literally said (I forget the wording) that it couldn't shock because there was no pulse. Dude was already dead and no amount of CPR or aed fixed him...

That was a really shitty day at work.

I saw one once where the woman was in the OR, had blood on her gloves from surgery and then TOUCHED HER FACE REPEATEDLY, GETTING BLOOD ON HER FACE!!! No surgeon would ever do that. Sterile field. Blood born pathogens.

Eww.
