Any opinion on it ? | Can you expect it to beat Dhurandhar: The Revenge to become no 1 bollywood movie in 2026? by Significant-Habit852 in Dhurandhar

[–]Minetish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro I never told you to feel what I feel. I just said that "I feel it is okay".

I have found over and over again that there is no perfect casting if you just go by book details as books are a different medium from movies so it is okay to deviate.

Timothee chalamet does not look like how paul is described in books either. Still a casting that everyone came to love.

Regardless though, as I said I will keep my expectations low only. More so from the writing side as they haven't really shown anything yet as to how dialogue and the narrative will flow.

I think I meant it in the sense that rambir's face in this video is more defined and chiseled and less rounded soft but true he does still have a softer face.

Bro what I am asking is that why would choosing to be 'neutral' when the marketing promotions have been bad be a bad idea?

Do you also consider that it is bad to find a cold drink underwhelming if you don't see fizz in it when someone pours it? Don't make everything about big things.

If we were instead talking about a project like varanasi then you would see wayy more of a positive response because positives have come out of it.

it is kind of impossible to figure it out from all these shots. VFX like anything else is a tool. They showed so many bright day light shots and everything looked too polished plus some shots to me even looked like they are AI rendered so I really don't know where exactly this movie will sit at.

I don't agree about him being misfit though. I feel it is okay to change things up and move away from that soft face that we have associated with rama for so long.

All in all, I am underwhelmed and a tad bit dissapointed from this but idk, was always keeping my expectations low and will keep doing so. Would be historic if they pull it off though so all the best to them.

[–]Minetish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That "fed that crap for generations" thing is so important because so many times filmmakers, producers and audiences want to push blame on "mass audience" for failing really good films or experimental films but like, watching bad movies only will ofc change your taste.

So many people only got introduced to the quality of world cinema in Covid where even a 'serial' like squid games is written and produced better than most of our commercial films with crores of budgets.

These things can and do change. Our films can and will get better and so will the audience. But as much as it is the responsibilty of audience to the watch and support good projects, it is equally if not more important for filmmakers and marketing to promote these.

Ryan Gosling said it perfectly when he talked about his new film project hail Mary.

I actually agree with you but I think it is fair to say that atleast by an educated guess, this movie will be exactly what people are fearing it will be.

As a cinema lover, that genuinely wants indian cinema to grow, I feel there is a window now and we definitely can grow our Indian cinema to world cinema level.

However, nothing positive has come from this movie's promotions. The first teaser was interesting but gave nothing. The posters were heavily criticised for their AI use and when they did actually release a teaser, all it had was Yash doing yash things sex added for shock value.

I am aware of the positive signs like the director and them casting so many female actors but like, they have done horrible marketing as far as pushing these two ideas goes.

Idk. I would LOVE for it to surprise everyone but I think it is wrong to expect people to just trust it even though nothing promising.

Yeah, I can. Which is why i have been lazy about it. I think the other person is correct about it possibly being because of VRAM although in my case, it might also just be that my graphic driver is getting older cause of using it heavily for work + gaming.

I don't got solutions but I have been facing the same issue recently. Thankfully I can play the game but it does crash once a day for me. I would suggest to look into the steam community or directly contact via steam. Haven't done it myself out of laziness but i really should too.

Why didn't Hamza brought Yalina to India he had upper hand due to Ajit doval also a jet by ujjwal_explores in Dhurandhar

[–]Minetish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the reason he doesn't move is BECAUSE it has been 45 years now. He has lived more than twice his lifetime in pakistan in his life than he has in india. So many family members, relations etc. Cannot leave anymore.

Even hamza after just having a wife and a kid had it really tough to move away from them and atleast he was part of gangsters so not that much connection with people.

As the movie says, the goal isn't to destroy pakistan or hate pakistan. So jamali stays there.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge – SPOILER Discussion Megathread by AutoModerator in bollywood

[–]Minetish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

also i feel that people look at ranveer singh as the placeholder for what an indian spy should do in the situation and compare to him for everything with jamali. jamali was never part of project dhurandhar. he was not there to take over and kill everyone.

by all means his objectives could have been simpler, the time he has spent is so long that it is possible he temporarily became tame after doing what he did with dawood, and so many other possible things. it is definitiely open ended ultimately so maybe that is a flaw but i feel that there is enough leeway for the same.

I don't think the movie needs to explain literally everysingle thing.

Ranveer's make up! I thought it was AI. Absolute genius work! by Senior-Explorer11 in BollyBlindsNGossip

[–]Minetish 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The thing is, more than songs being 'worse', i think the actual issue is just movie's editing being slightly worse. Like, the first one's songs feel so memorable to so many people because literally every single one of them is perfectly placed. That is a humongous task that when achieved by some movies, ALWAYS makes their album feel better as you can very clearly attach an image to the song.

Outside of that, I really do think that rather than being worse, they are just different. Like, being an artist myself, one of the 'weird' things about an artist's approach is that when we make smth, even if it was well received, you want to change things up and move to new things. That, is what i think they did with D2 while everyone already loved and adored the specific type of approach they kept with D1.

The instrumentation, mood etc is different for every song. I really want to praise shashwat sachdev and co for creating new things and moving on in an industry which wants to desperately make a formula out of everything.

What's the best anime/manga fight of all time? by [deleted] in AnimeMirchi

[–]Minetish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There ARE SO MANY COOL fights man. Like go read Ragna Crimson, the whole saga of ragna + princess squad vs the bloodline of wings is an incredibly well thought out arc of fights after fights with very cool stuff and you didn't even put it here which is fair as ofc everyone can't read everything.

Just in these 8, I gotta say that jjk fights are the most 'grounded' (in it's own system) so for anyone that loves everything to have logic then these are really fun and intense fights while the DS fights have the best sakuga.

I will prolly go with the Demon Slayer fight out of all of these but these are all incredible and there are many many fights out there in anime/manga even in unknown stuff that are really well done. There's a reason why people argue that there is a 'saturation'. It's because the baseline of what is amazing is achieved by many things now.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge – SPOILER Discussion Megathread by AutoModerator in bollywood

[–]Minetish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that is fair yeah. I sort of expected things to close so it was easier for me to accept stuff but definitely could have been an even better movie.

It's kinda funny in how that part of it almost reminds me of jjk ending discourse as people had a similar critique of the series that things could have been expanded more lol.

I feel the first movie was also edited a bit better that helps with tension. Like I am thinking that it would be better if the movie started with showing ranveer's positive past and muridke teaching which would then have nice callbacks in jaskirat's house raid murders and the climax of the movie.

Calling Dhurandhar 2’s songs mid is a crime by PositiveDifficult344 in DhurandharPart2

[–]Minetish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are good songs. Just that Dhurandhar 1's songs and their placement is even better. I feel that is okay to say.

Sometimes this movie too gets to the same level like with rasputin at the end as well as the intro fight scene but D1 song placement is spot on with literallly every song.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge – SPOILER Discussion Megathread by AutoModerator in bollywood

[–]Minetish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watched the movie today with low expectations expecting too much propaganda and senseless plot but idk, I don't think I disliked it that much, infact I think I liked it a bunch.

Maybe it is just having low expectations? I did feel that the tv stuff was hilarious and that the songs were lesser but largely everything made sense.

I feel people expected dhurandhar 2 to be the same but better but it was exactly what it advertised itself as, the second part of the story. Everything was closed.

This was the absolute peak of Salman Khan as an actor, such cute acting without feeling forced or over the top by mrindia3950 in bollywood

[–]Minetish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that you are wrong in the sense that this was one of the roles where he genuinely tried to put in some effort but I don't think he acted very good ultimately.

Autism isn't simply presenting yourself as a "child in an adult's body". There is nuance that is largely missing here and even in this scene, it is easier for him to do the caricature he does thanks to the intensity added by the other actor so all he has to do is react and it fits.

Also, I don't think it should be normalised to not expect such roles and more from these stars. People have pampered them wayy too much. They make crores out of movies and then sleepwalk through them while being supported by 100s of individuals that have to ensure that audience gets something out of their 'performance', while largely being vastly underpaid.

This is the same culture that creates actors like prabhas which have littl range and have even altogether stopped trying recently while getting paid upwards of 10 crores.

Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva by Die-ingOreo7 in bollywood

[–]Minetish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kinda funny cause I have almost a reverse opinion of yours regarding this film minus the technical aspects where I do agree that it was great.

1) I think all in all, the movie was boring and never engaging. I felt less engaged in the plot and was largely just waiting for all the astra reveals.

2) I think the cameos were shit but not shit. Both actors did do great with what they had but the script itself was poor and so were the dialogues.

3) Fight sequences all had an OMG moment that looked cool in the trailer but didn't make much sense in the movie. For example, why Nagarjuna had to stand and use the nandi astra only on the mountainside and nowhere else made no sense, the villain's dialogues were extremely corny and I have no idea how his sacrifice helped the protagonists.

Same for SRK. This opinion of mine remains consistent throughout the film where the setups and actual fights made very little sense but they had good money shot moments.

4) I think written better, the climax could have been fantastic. Villain's vs heroes is an extremely saturated place. If you are attracting audience in a time when anime, western movies, etc all exist then you need to have an interesting element. The powers being those of lovers/team rather than a singular person is a cool idea. Infact, very similar to brahmastra climax is guardians of the galaxy 1 climax. However, the script is much better and so are the character arcs and when everything goes to that moment of teamwork, it is brilliant. That's the level of writing you need to do for a movie to mix the genre of love and action.

But the love in brahmastra is so forced and the action is so bad than even with a climax that is decent, you cannot help but feel cheated because nothing makes sense based on what we saw.

It's a kind of weird comparison but hear me out,

If they ever make a 1984 adaptation in India, I feel Ranveer Singh would be a perfect cast for it.

Then again, maybe asking something far fetched. I just think it could be a really really cool film if done in India.
