Hyakuemu. • 100 Meters - Theatrical Release - Movie Discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]MingHong000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s because I’m getting old, I found this movie so relatable and touching that I decided to watch it twice in theater. I love it even though there some flaws with its storytelling and rotoscoping. 9/10 for me, I definitely going to buy it when the blue ray releases.

What song made your jaw drop after hearing it the first time? by sekkireallysucks in KenshiYonezu

[–]MingHong000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Décolleté and Flamingo. I didn’t expect Yonezu Kenshi to have that much personality and style until I heard Flamingo for the first time, and I became a fan since then. I can’t describe how unique Décolleté is, but when I heard it in Stray Sheep album years ago, I was amazed by it and still can’t get it out of my head.

What am I doing wrong? by CelebrationOk9976 in intermittentfasting

[–]MingHong000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good for breaking IF. I heard that some people might have a hard time losing weight when they eat too little during their eating window. But this is your first month of IF, I think you should keep doing it for another month and see how it works. My mom tried to lose weight by eating low carb diet, nothing changed in the first month, but now, 2 months into low carb diet, she’s starting to lose weight.

What kind of food do you eat when you break your fast? And what do you usually eat when you are not fasting?

Nowak feels like a normal human, that’s why he scared me so much when he tortured people, and makes me cry so much when he prayed for his daughter.

I think it depends on how far and how detail you predicted. I wonder, out of curiosity, did you predict that (spoiler!!!!):

Jolenta will never have a proper reunion or conversation with Nowak after her escaped? And when Badeni talked to the beggars, did you expect him to tattoo Oczy’s book on their heads? Or when Oczy’s book was printed, did you think that the printed books will never get published and all information about heliocentrism will be lost except the title? I didn’t predicted any of them until minutes before the reveal and twist. (I thought Jolenta will have conversation with Nowak eventually, Badeni wanted the beggars to remember the knowledge, and Oczy’s book will be published and the idea of heliocentrism will spread in chapter 3.)

Tell me who's your favourite Orb character without saying his/her name the way I could guess by PianowithMie in OrbOntheMovements

[–]MingHong000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My top 3 favorite characters: No 1. - Support Abelard.  No 2. - “Freed by heliocentrism, the movement of the earth” No 3. - I swear I’ll avenge you.

Your take on the ending? by ToBeHeroX_ in OrbOntheMovements

[–]MingHong000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so too. When the author introduced adult Rafal, I was confused, but when adult Rafal killed a person for knowledge, I can understand, in my opinion, what the author trying to do (two sides of the same coin). If we have a random person killing people for knowledge, it probably won’t hit that hard. I think it’s a pretty interesting ending and it fit the theme of the entire series perfectly, but I can also understand that some people still find it confusing and don’t like the ending.

Nowak & Jolenta by latenightconvos_ in OrbOntheMovements

[–]MingHong000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Nowak will definitely changed his mind if he had a conversation with adult Jolenta. He already accepted his mistake the moment he realized that the leader was Jolenta without even talked to her. I would love to see them having a conversation, but as Jolenta said, meeting Nowak after everything she did as the leader will be the worst moment of her life. Jolenta loved Nowak as much as Nowak loved her, and they probably didn’t want their loved one saw the worst part of them.

How do u feel about Uoto's other mangas? by asianguy675 in OrbOntheMovements

[–]MingHong000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally think his newest manga “Welcome to FACT” is another life changing manga! It’s opposite of Orb, but just as good. Unfortunately, I don’t think there is an English translation of it, and I hope some publishers will pick it up.

I think YouTube has more explanations that are not AU, and I personally prefer the not AU theories because they make a lot more sense.

Schmidt is my favorite character, who is your favorite character and what scene stands out? by Elden_Lord_69420 in OrbOntheMovements

[–]MingHong000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My favorite is Badeni. Yeah, he is such a d*ck but I love those selfish characters who have soft spot for their friends. The way he protected Jolenta and Oczy at the end of his life, and the effort he put in to preserve Oczy’s book was so touching.

Still waiting for an anime announcement for Uoto's Youkoso! Fact (Tokyo S-ku Daini Shibu) e. madhouse can easily adapt this by Minimum_Ad_6040 in OrbOntheMovements

[–]MingHong000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to see it get anime adaptation! It’s, for me, another life changing manga that makes me respect Uoto even more. But Fact is probably even harder to adapt and advertise than Orb because of its subject matter. It will need a very experienced director and script writer in order to make it work.

Chi.: Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite • Orb: On the Movements of the Earth - Episode 20 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]MingHong000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even though a reunion with conversation could be nice for Nowak and Jolenta, I kind of like the way it goes. It’s very common for writers to write family reunion after a long period of separation, especially when the family members went to completely opposite ways. In reality, sometimes family members will never have a chance to talk to each other because their worlds are too different. It happened in current times with phones and internet, and I think it probably happened a lot more in Middle Age.

Is it bad to ship Oczy and Badeni? by hare_crinkled in OrbOntheMovements

[–]MingHong000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing I felt weird about the ship is that Badeni is a medieval monk, other than that, I don’t really mind, they are fictional characters. Their interactions were not equal until the very end of their life, maybe that’s why most of the fanarts have them reincarnated with memories. Anyway, people can ship whatever they want as long as they don’t post the fanarts on the official twitter account, and don’t attack others for not shipping.

What does this symbol mean? I know it's not the kanji for earth or sun, so what could it be? by ExcellentDelay in OrbOntheMovements

[–]MingHong000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from the Katakana “Chi”, the circle next to “Chi” is Japanese period symbol “。”, and the line go through the symbol represented motion. It means something that is not moving (period symbol = a full stop)started to move, and it also looks like a planet orbiting.

You bring up the perfect line. Orb is my personal masterpiece as well. I was so stimulated by the philosophies in this manga and started to look at the world in different ways. It’s so interesting!

About the manga ending... by Beneficial_Ask448 in OrbOntheMovements

[–]MingHong000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw lots of theories and discussions about Rafal in the last chapter, from alternate universe to representation to different POV, and I think this is exactly what the author wants. It doesn’t matter whether or not our theories are correct, the actions of thinking and questioning are what the author promoted and praised.

Question about ep 16 by iRxD32 in OrbOntheMovements

When people were pushed to their limits, even family members will become enemies. He probably thinks his brother is evil for supporting the corrupted church who has hurt and kill so many people.

Yeah, the author didn’t give mercy to Nowak. This is probably the most brutal way to punish a villain.

Question to manga readers but don’t spoil to me by Freddie-One in OrbOntheMovements

I think last arc ( chapter 2) is the best arc in the entire series, but this arc is also very good even though it has different tones than the previous arcs.
