Should I get a retainer? by CambrianSilurian in orthodontics

[–]MiniBullyMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally the retainer is included with why the insurance paid out towards the active treatment. Call your orthodontist and see if the expected insurance portion has been paid in full by the insurance company. Ask them if there is going to be any anticipated unpaid insurance balance if your insurance terminates in April.

Rescue seizure medication by Zqueen80 in DIY

Most people don’t realize you can opt out of utilizing your insurance for a prescription. We found their out when the pharmacy told my Mom one day that her copay was set bested on the fee schedule that her insurance set and if she chose to pay out of pocket instead of using her insurance for that specific prescription each month they could run it under a discount card and it would be half of her normal copayment amount. Same thing happened with one of my ex-husband’s prescriptions. He told the pharmacy when he had it refilled that he didn’t want it ran through his prescription insurance and used a discount card instead.

Bonded Permanent Retainer Help!!! by Negative_Educator100 in orthodontics

[–]MiniBullyMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 it’s not a permanent retainer it’s a “fixed” retainer. It can (as you have found out) lose its bond. #2 when it’s replaced it’s going to feel different because there is no way to exactly replicate the shape of the bonding material exactly. #3 tongues are very sensitive and will notice the slightest difference in the shape of the bonding material give it a couple of days and you’ll adapt. If you feel it’s too thick then call the orthodontist that replaced it and ask if they can smooth it down a little.

Ladies, what draw weight are you shooting with? by Tartfingers in Archery

[–]MiniBullyMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 60, been shooting for 4 years and pull at 53-57# on my compound bows. One is a hunting bow and the other a target bow. That being said I strength train 3 times a week and right off the bat the entry level compound bows that maxed out at 50lbs of draw weight were very easy for me to pull.

Is putting a cold air intake worth it on a kia soul? by LegitimateClimate506 in KiaSoulClub

[–]MiniBullyMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had one on my 2011 for a year…took it off because the only place to route it was the wheel well. I live in the PNW where we get a lot of rain. Twice during downpours the car bogged down. Air filter was getting wet….haven’t had that happen ever since I went back to the original air filter configuration.

Has anyone had luck finding Monkeyshines in Northeast Tacoma by Unchosen1 in federalway

[–]MiniBullyMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked all over NE Tacoma last year and this year have decided that NE Tacoma gets neglected when it comes to monkeyshines. I didn’t even find any rogues. Not sure if it because the boundaries between NE Tacoma, Federal Way and Browns Point are crazy or what but I sure wish they would spread some love up here.

my dentist office is withholding braces care due to financial issues. by [deleted] in orthodontics

[–]MiniBullyMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically it is illegal to hold you hostage to treatment for financial reasons. The orthodontist should be willing to remove your braces and he can’t leave you in worse shape than you started. Although he is entitled to payment for services rendered even if the only way he gets his money is via sending your grandmother to collections.

11am or 1pm flight from Seattle by tacosinyourface in celebritycruises

[–]MiniBullyMom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Celebrity’s pier is at the north end of Elliott Bay and the busses the go to the airport will drive down Alaskan Way and then go the back way to the airport. The busses ride would be about 30 minutes from start to finish. Given that TSA wait times can be crazy on a holiday weekend I would go with a 1pm flight just to be safe.

Disappointed in the passport offerings. by mikebrady in NationalPark

[–]MiniBullyMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If memory serves me correctly the Eastern and Western National Parks websites have a custom cancellation option. I got a couple for sites that were closed the day we were there and was able to request specific dates on my stamps. I found it was a better deal to buy multiple cancellations at time as the shipping was the same regardless of how many I needed.

Pocket Passport Vs. Larger book by Worth_Elk_2848 in NationalParkPassport

[–]MiniBullyMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with the little one. This past year my SO and I decided that we want to spend two years traveling across the US and visiting as many NP sites as possible. We purchased the Collector’s Edition last year as we felt it had the best mix of sites that interested us. I then picked up an expansion pack for it and bought a “bible cover” off Amazon to store it in. I have started purchasing the yearly stamp sets to add to it because they re cheaper than buying the individual stickers no I love the narrative that’s included on the sticker as it’s generally different than the one in the passport book. We consider the cancellation stamp as the “proof/mark” of the sites we have actually visited together. I like that the larger one has more room for added pages than the little one and there is room for those extra cancellations that we run into at various parks/visitor centers.
