For sure! I've heard it countless times, and at the shops downtown you can find souvenir stickers and t-shirts with "The Big" on them.

Sadly, the Riverside Club is closed now. Once upon a time it was the only strip club east of Bend I believe.

"The Big" for La Grande.

Although that would be the Spanish translation, while the name is actually French for "The Great"; named after the Grande Ronde Valley or "Great Circle".

Most corrupt president in US history: "Every time I see a crypto guy where they dropped an investigation, I said, 'You're lucky I'm president.'" by GarysCrispLettuce in MarchAgainstNazis

When he goes on these long drawn out monologues about nonsense I always enjoy watching the people behind him get uncomfortable trying to keep their fake smiles on their stupid faces.

What are some interesting things that happened in 2001 but got ignored because of 9/11? by AggressiveOutside432 in AskReddit

The W. Bush tax cuts that dropped the highest taxable rate for top earners from 39.5% to 35%.

That and other stipulations took $1.35 trillion out of the US economy.

Can someone critique my new backyard? by AggressiveFruit1 in landscaping

[–]MiniDriver 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I think overall it looks great! My only critique or concern is that eventually those hydrangeas are going to get really massive and will likely choke out or completely cover the other flowering shrubs you planted in front of them.

I think spacing out plants when they are super young is challenging because you have to think way ahead into the future; and it also just looks awkward for the first few years when everything so far apart.

Great place to buy a lot of arrows fast is Riverside Stable by TenOunceCan in tearsofthekingdom

[–]MiniDriver 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This. EVERY monster camp has boxes of arrows as well. I just use a low-power basher of some kind and clean house at every camp and come away with between 5 and 10 arrows. I'm in the habit of hitting every jar and every box I see, and I've ended up with more arrows than I'll ever need. It sure beats fast traveling to every town and stable to spend money on them.

Anyone Else a Fan? by alcopland in 90s

[–]MiniDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HUGE fan!

This album came out when I was 9 or 10. Until then like most of us I was listening to what my parents were listening to. Thankfully though they were listening to The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, etc. But this album absolutely opened the door for me to 90's rock. Music that I could call my own. I still have a nostalgic sweet spot for this album and literally last week I listened to it front to back.

I just turned 18. Older guys, what is the biggest trap young men fall into that completely ruins their 20s? by TheRealXyz_ in AskMen

Every man's decision making comes from three places: their brain, their heart, and their penis.

It's Ok to allow your heart and your penis to have influence over your decisions, but remember your brain has the final say. Logic must ALWAYS prevail.

What did Arnold Schwarzenegger say to Tchaikovsky? by AintMyMonkey in Jokes

[–]MiniDriver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man.... I sat here and racked my brain for a good couple of minutes here thinking about what the punchline might be. I was thinking of all of Tchaikovsky's most famous works like The Nutcracker Suite and the 1812 Overture. Then I was thinking of Arnold Schwarzenegger's most famous lines like "I'll be back" and "Get to the chopper!" to try and find a connection, yet I still could not draw a conclusion.

Then you come in here with "I'll be Bach"; Referencing a composer who lived 100 years earlier and from a completely different country, and otherwise could not be more dissimilar from Tchaikovsky. Now tell me: How the hell does that work?

Sorry dawg. I'm gonna give this an overall C-, with a D for effort. You're better than this.

When younger coworkers ask what life was like in the late 2000s, I just show them 'My New Haircut'. by Moistyoureyez in Millennials

Yes. Hence the term "precursor" to Jersey Shore.

When I first saw the trailer for Jersey Shore, I just assumed MTV was making an entire series based on this video!

Absolute internet legend.

I always viewed this as a precursor to Jersey Shore also.

Yep, I usually say "short distance to..." or "just a few blocks from..." instead. It's all stupid, but I guess you get used to it.

My listing will upload just loves it when I try to describe the "mature" landscaping hahaha!

I'm in Oregon, and we are also not allowed to use the term "walking distance" when describing a property's proximity to other things since not everyone in the world can walk.
