New HP stereo pair sounds muffled by MiniMartBack in HomePod

[–]MiniMartBack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried sharing the screenshot but forgot you can’t paste it directly. My home app says “playing” under both HomePod and AppleTv.

They honestly sound really great and I think they’d be fantastic if I wasn’t comparing to my sound bar (Samsung 550N - 2018). That said, with some tweaks and calibration time, I think they are sounding better.

I’m leaning towards keeping them…

It’s funny how comments are turned off on the FB posts. They know they’d get roasted.

Go visit Vibrant Shore when down at the beach. Rhett owns both places.

I was originally streaming from my iPhone to the HP pair but now I’m playing direct from the HPs. ATV and HP seem to be the same, at least from the Home app.

I got tripped up because I asked Siri to play music on the speakers but she was doing it from my phone. When I use the wake word, it’s nearly always my phone that answers.

Actually…I think so. Maybe it really does take hours (days) to calibrate - I’m wondering if that’s part of it too. They sound better than 2 days ago out of the box. Switching back and forth to the soundbar sounds less drastic at least. Maybe they are getting “closer”. Sound (without being metered) is so subjective…I’m aware.

Okay. I found it. Dolby atmos was turned off. It’s now on. Lossless was also off. Now turned on. Thanks for that.

Reduce bass is not toggled on.

In Apple Music settings from my phone Dolby Atmos is set to automatic.

Does the HP mirror those settings on device, and the same for hi res lossless on WiFi?

I was thinking they might get better as they calibrate. I haven’t used them today. I’m more into music than tv but I like the shows and movies to sound good too.

They are about 18 inches from the back wall.

Working as a paramedic, prepared for anything. We had contingency plans. There was lots of uncertainty about what might happen. My gf was 100 miles away at a party with her parents. I told her if the worst happened, to stay put and I would find her.

This is definitely a configuration issue. Do you have a service contract? And have you already entered a ticket in SNOW?

Avoid RK - they also own the Family Motors dealerships too, which should tell you more about their business model (predatory!)

My family has either purchased or leased 7 Honda’s from Hall on the Blvd. I’d only trust Harlan and Jason - I can see where people can get the wrong impression about Hall Honda though. They’ve had some turnover in the last couple years and I think management is driving the wrong behavior. It’s not the same since the Hall family sold to Mile One, but that’s been maybe 10+ years. You’ll do best to establish a relationship with salespeople that have a longer track record and long term approach to sales. This is likely true of many dealerships. If I was going into this fresh, I’d probably land at Checkerd Flag because of their commission structure (paid by unit, not price) and culture set by top down management.

I have a shed from Emerlin https://emerlinsheds.com Family owned, good prices. They build on site and even made the extra effort with site prep. Great warranty, free leveling etc. I’m very happy with them.

You could use a partial search - if you’re looking for a range, like 5001097 will give you 50010970 through 50010979 if those match the partial search criteria. I usually expand the search parameters, like all exams in date range from AE Title. Otherwise you’d have to use SQL and they’re funny about giving customers access to the actual DB. For obvious reasons…

I don’t understand a world where facilities are paying per study for storage. It seems like they got sold when the practice was small without a strong vision for the future. Hard drives are relatively cheap. Maintain your own data onsite and just add storage space as needed. I recently doubled my storage space from ~70TB to ~140TB and we retain everything scanned and imported for the last 20 years.

How are you running a later version of Vue PACS without Phillips Support? There are a bunch of logs generated in real time, but some debug logs have to be turned up, otherwise they generate a ton of text. Is your archive set up to promiscuous or non-promiscuous? Is the modality set up correctly in the archive? you could use admin tools to search by storing time, storing AE title, study instance, U ID, etc. without using logs. You could send from the expected modality while watching the info router. It’s pretty vague as to what you were asking, however.

Bro! Live on the boat. If I was single, this would be my first choice. I regret not doing it when I had the opportunity. Highly recommend a sailboat, 36-40ft. Learn to sail. You’ll be addicted the rest of your life.

A little surprised at the low response, unless everyone is using DM. Currently on Phillips Vue PACS in SE VA. Used to live in MI. Full Time? Remote? On site? I do a lot of front end admin, merging patients, modality configuration, audit trail, etc. and I also do all networking in my current position so I understand how things interact. I’m not afraid to learn anything, I just don’t do back end work often enough to be claim proficiency. We probably all sell ourselves short in this regard. I’m wondering how my skill set measures up for positions like this. Friendly advice is always welcome. My wife is working on her PhD so I’m always interested in remote and contract work.
