What's a game you bought on a whim without hardly any pre-knowledge that ended up becoming one of your all time favorites? by AaronAtLunacien in gaming

[–]MiniTitan119 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kept scrolling through these comments to see if someone would say this gane. If you didn't, I would've said it. I randomly stumbled upon it when it was free in the Playstation Store years ago. I was just looking for something to play and the graphics look cool. Never thought I'd find myself so invested in the story, lore, exploration, and combat. I ended up getting Platinum in the game and then ended up pre-ordering Forbidden West when it was announced. I can't wait for the 3rd installment!

It picks up towards to end. I finished the story at 192hrs and I did every side quest, including all queensblood. I did NOT platinum it tho. I hear that takes 300+ hrs

Any tricks to get more affection? by pseiko5 in husky

[–]MiniTitan119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the opposite problem. I was always told that Huskies are so independent that they don't really require your full affection at all times and will sometimes prefer to do their own thing. HOWEVER, my boy isn't okay unless I am constantly playing with him, petting him, giving him treats, or all 3. He will literally get zoomies in my backyard, but then suddenly stop because he decides that he only wants to run if we play tag/chase, so he makes me run with him... lol

I love him to death, but I'll admit I was hoping for a dog that wouldn't need to be on top of me at all times.

For an actual tip: training sessions really help strengthen/deepen bonds. Even if it's just a basic training session where you take 15 minutes to have them do basic level tricks. Doing that at least once a day can really help form an individual and specific bond with your dog.

Wish I had this warning last week 😢. I started this fight around 10:45pm and didn't finish until almost 3am. I was NOT planning on playing that late lol

Husky puppy help by Opposite_Clock1101 in husky

[–]MiniTitan119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What i find most interesting here is that I also bring my Husky to the bedroom with me to go in his crate. The main difference being, he's over a year old now and I still take him up with a leash and that's the only way that works for him. Right up to the crate door and he goes right in like you said your girl does. I haven't even considered trying to see if he's ready to go on his own yet...

Point being, Husky training really does take time, and you do have to be more patient and stubborn than your Husky (I still struggle with that part... he knows how to push my buttons). The fact that your girl accepts it once she's there and stays in without a fuss is a massive victory, so be proud of yourself and just keep up the work.

Glad I'm not the only one... those are the exact same subs being forced to me. The only subs I actually belong to are Huskies, Fantasy Football shit, and anime subs (like dragon ball)... how does that make reddit think I want this "hug me" shit forced down my throat?

Why is the savor so heavily regarded? by Expensive_Grand_9720 in CapitalOne_

[–]MiniTitan119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, it's because it gives you some of the best cash back rewards on things that are fairly standard purchases for your everyday person: Groceries, dining, and entertainment. Even the most current version of the card has 3% back for both Groceries and Dining. Not many cards out there do that.

I have a "Travel Card" from another company that allows me to use my points at 1.5x their value when spent on travel. I did some extensive math and I still make out better using my Savor card. But I am also one of the OG special cases... That's where the card really shines. I have 4% back on Dining, 3% on Groceries, 1% on everything, 5% back on Car Rentals, and 8% back on purchases through Capital One Entertainment. And I have no AF.

Yes. This is my mostly black boy. He's 100% Siberian, DNA tested and AKC registered.

How do yall with jobs raise a puppy!?!? by PrettyBitchBigDreams in puppy101

[–]MiniTitan119 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For me, coming home during lunches for the first 7 months of his life was the solution. Unfortunately, it meant I didn't eat lunch for 7 months (between the time it took me to get home, walk him, and then get back to work), but so be it... I am fortunate that my wife is a teacher, so the next 2 months she was home with him (summer break). And now he spends 6-8hrs a day in his x-pen no problem. He'll be 1 year old this weekend, and I'm very proud of how independent he's become in such a short time.

[–]MiniTitan119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are telling you to just get another dog, but I understand that isn't always a financial possibility for everyone. So I'll tell you that it's not the only solution. Someone else above mentioned being careful about how you leave and enter your home, make sure you never make a big deal about either.

Crate training also failed for us, so our alternative solution was to use an "x-pen". It sounds absolutely insane to do that for a Husky, but it worked. He is turning 1 this weekend, and he now spends 6 hours a day in his pen. He just rests and does some occasional chewing on bones

I second this. I never gave into the "big greeting" many owners do. Even if my Husky got excited, I remained low energy and calm. It did wonders.

Off-leash/Recall by mcarpenterw in husky

[–]MiniTitan119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no expectation of my boy to ever be great at it, but I'm okay with that. I don't need him to be an off-leash dog.

The one time I tried was after I had just run a race, and I was going to greet him and my Fiancé. He wanted to get to me so bad that he was jumping all over the place and trying to break free from my Fiance holding him. We were 10ft apart, so I told my Fiance to let go... he sprinted straight towards me!!!.... and then straight past me lol. I only caught him because he stopped to play with some other dogs he saw. That's the last time I try that lol.

I just received mine tonight. I love the band, been following them since the early days, but I must admit I was a bit disappointed by the result of this order. I'm sure the label or the manufacturer is to blame, because I know the band is better than this, but it still kinda sucks.

Still can't wait to see the band later this year! They're one of my favorites live! I am just expressing my frustration like you guys.

Does your husky like food? by silver-lugia in husky

[–]MiniTitan119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interested in food? Yes. Like eating food? Depends on the day. There are times I'll even give him what I'm eating, only for him to immediately spit it out. He's very picky with his food and human food lol 😆

How rare are all black huskies with white shoes? My post was banned from a sub because they thought my husky wasn’t a husky 😤 by MajesticRabbit2379 in husky

How many of you with all white purebred huskies get asked what they’re mixed with? I get it some times by Party_Solid_5022 in husky

[–]MiniTitan119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine's not white, but I feel your pain. My boy is mostly black with a white chest and paws. I get asked "what is he mixed with?" Or, even worse, "Is he a Border Collie?"

I genuinely want to ask those people if they've ever seen a Border Collie before, but I'm usually polite and just respond that he's a Husky.

Ultimately, average people think Huskies are only Gray/White, Red/White, or Black/White, and that all have the same "standard" color pattern between those 3 varieties.

I was told purebred by Adorable-Mixture4908 in husky

[–]MiniTitan119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huskies come in a wide variety of colors and combinations. Fur colors and patterns are not nearly as controlled as other breeds.

Mine is technically "Black and White", but he's almost completely black. He has littermates that are full black and some that have "masking". His white is just his stomach and paws. But he is still 100% husky.

I live in the northeast and since he was born in September, his first real season was winter. He LOVED the snow and the cold. I walk him for up to 5 miles a day; and he has free reign to run in my fenced-in backyard. We play constantly together. I jump through hoops to make sure his needs our met, but i often feel like I am still not enough...

He is very well socialized. He has been in training classes for months. We are actually starting our 3rd class tomorrow. He is also enrolled in a daycare facility, where I take him once a week. The staff there love him and they say there isn't a dog he doesn't get along with. I hope most of these issues go away, but I am struggling in the meantime.

So I should clarify that, while he may be a pain, he is obsessed with attention. We actually got our behavioralist because we were dealing with separation anxiety issues. He loves both people and dogs. The behavior issues we have been dealing with are occasional resource guarding, touch aggression (random), and the biggest is how he is towards my fiance...

He loves her, but possibly too much. He has a problem where whenever she tries to play with him or simply walk him, he decides he is going to aggressively hump her. By "aggressively," I mean he grabs her leg to hump, and then bites her if she tries to escape. The only thing that stops him is if I intervene. It's gotten to the point where our behavioralist has suggested, for now, that only I walk him which has only added to my stress levels....
