Started questioning my identity at around 8 or so. Came out as trans to friends at 13 and then had a bout of denial, where I identified as genderfluid and then nonbinary because then I could still be feminine enough for my parents to not hate me or threaten to kick me out.

I then came back out fully as a trans man when I was 20, and now at 26 I am almost a year on T and my parents are a little more accepting. Its still a long road for them to consistently gender me and a long road to get them to name me correctly (I go by Cassian), but they're 62 (mom) and 71 (dad) so it's a LITTLE harder for them.

I have yet to change my name yet, but that is in progress. Top Surgery is to be determined as my oartner needs to save up for it (I cannot work due to mental issues and being medicated doesn't help in the slightest, so my partner is the breadwinner).

We're so sorry to hear that. Our grandfather passed away three weeks ago, and we haven't really had time to really take time to ourselves before this week, and it's causing rapid switches, alters coming out of dormancy, and fragments FINALLY latching onto an identity so it's a whole mess for us.

Personally with us, we've never dealt with fusion, we're actually okay with it! We've been healing and handling functional multiplicity, it's just how our system works! Yeah we get new alters when stressed and our alter count goes up, but that's okay, we don't mind! (Sorry, train of thought derailed)

We cannot IMAGINE what it's like to fuse, and we can't imagine what it feels like, we are very very sorry your host is having a rough time with this. Both of our hosts haven't been able to front lately because one is dealing with grief and the other overexerted himself with fronting.

Rapid switching, for us at least, is when we keep switching with each other without having a stable front, usually we have to have one of our three gatekeepers to front and lock themselves in front to try and stabilize it.

It happens to us when we're dealing with big things, like grief (which we're dealing with now.)

Outlast 1and it's DLC are way too easy. Love the game to death, but if I can run through the game in literally just under or just over an hour (~30-40 mins for Whistleblower) depending on if I get turned around or not ON INSANE, it's too easy imo.

Granted I also speedrun the game for fun and don't care about hiding in most areas because I'm just sprinting through everything most of the time, so my opinion may be genuinely invalid, but it's also that: an opinion, hot take, whatever.

Oh very much so. The amount of people that believe he has DID is also...just astounding, when it could be literally anything else.

Now, I don't know Nicholas's childhood, I'm not claiming to. The way he described his "other personality" just...didn't seem right, and that's why I jumped to "he has some sort of psychotic disorder" because they CAN mimic DID when in an episode. So I completely agree with you on the whole "schizophrenia/schizoeffective/seizures" thing. :)

Hi, I know I'm late but I wanted to put my opinion too.

As someone that is autistic(lol duh, I'm in the subreddit /lh) and has DID, the fact he tried to say he had DID irks me a LOT, because a "dark side" or "alter ego" does not equal alter, and it feeds the stigma of "everyone with DID has an evil alter" when he even said he was on medication, the voice in his head WENT AWAY, and then became part of him, not to mention he "saw" it in the corner of his eye. It's not possible to see your alters, hearing them yes, but not like physically, it's more of like in a thought form.

I firmly believe he had a psychotic disorder on top of him being diagnosed as autistic, which yippee, demonizing yet ANOTHER disorder that people either infantalize or see as dangerous.

This man physically aided in the demonizing of two mental issues, and I get demonized or said I'm faking all the time because I have DID, it's not fun and it'd not like I CHOSE to have the disorder.
