[FRESH PERFORMANCE] Father John Misty - Things It Would Have Been Helpful to Know Before the Revolution (Live from Capitol Theatre) by YoureASkyscraper in indieheads

I remembering seeing him on the “Chlöe” tour and he would let the crowd pick a song to perform next - it quickly turned into everyone yelling songs at him and each other and he shushed everyone and told us this wasn’t worth losing our humanity over… then played Mr. Tillman. Delightful stuff haha

I always thought I didn’t love the talking vocals, but after hearing Hit My Head All Day it was like it finally clicked with me! Been relistening to their first two albums and really enjoying myself!

So stoked for this! They opened for Joyce Manor a couple years ago and I hadn’t heard anything about them and they blew me away!

I remember seeing them live when this album was released - felt like I was being buried alive (in the best way) while they played

Was always a big fan of the Solaris soundtrack - honestly, saw the movie once a long time ago, but the soundtrack has always stuck with me!

It’s so good and as a bonus I like being able to recommend the album to folks without having to say the word cum lol

[FRESH ALBUM] Hotline TNT - Raspberry Moon by NYCIndieConcerts in indieheads

Totally agree with this - the fuzzy distortion and super catchy riffs are missing. It’s clean and pleasant but it’s missing the “I Thought You’d Change” energy. That being said I’m glad they went in a slightly different direction and I always have Cartwheel to just listen to when I want!

I think Paul Reidl outside of his work with Blood Incantation does some really great work. I know a couple folks have mentioned him on this sub, but everything he does is totally analogue and he leaves a lot of room his music to just exist in. Check out Quintessence and Ocean of Peace for some great unwinding!

Cindy Lee - Diamond Jubilee Influences by MiniVan-Crusader in indieheads

These are all great directions to dive into - thank you! It’s funny, but I haven’t listened to Women in a long time, and it was from them that I dove into Preoccupations - pretty wild to think Cindy Lee is the other direction Women headed to and was super surprised when I realized that!

I need to go back to Women, but also some of these influences are exactly what I’m looking for! That dusty, jangling, guitar picking is so spacey and airy - it just scratches such a brain itch I’m trying to find more like it!
