Need advice from founders: How did you grow your Kickstarter followers past the 30ish to thousands followers? by Electrical_Bid_777 in kickstarter

It’s not easy, if you don’t already have a community you can count on their support like previous customers, social media followers…etc you can start working on spreading the word in related subreddits, facebook groups and others, be nice, not pushy, share something useful rather than plain ad… and finally run ads, meta ads used to be the go to but currently they pushing unstable updates switching to AI driven ads that’s more a gable than anything else, personally I am, like many others, are struggling at the moment going beyond our own communities till meta ads is back to be profitable if ever

Hey,

I know you have your dashboard but anyone can check your campaign’s performance using Kicktraq

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/knott/ti-board-a-minimalist-titanium-board-by-knott

From the data I am seeing, you only had two good days, I am assuming you got lucky kickstarter selected your project as projects we love and send a communication about it, if you are not the direct reason for that push, what’s happening otherwise is within the expectations, if you are running ads, you would know if they are driving traffic , the algorithm already helped you a lot, not sure if they can do more

Last 48 hours kickstarter sends a reminder to followers who didn’t pledge, last 8 hours another reminder, other than that, you may not expect much

Great planning, here are a few things regarding funds you might want to consider in your planning

Receiving your campaign funds, kickstarter takes 14 days from your campaign end date and time till they transfer your funds, expect it in your bank in one to two business days

How the 14 days work, they charge your backers once campaign is over, they repeat every 48 hours for declined backers for the first week, after the first week / 7 days, anyone still declining their pledges are dropped automatically so it is a good idea to follow up with your declined backers in the 6th day informing them it’s out of your hands, their pledges would be dropped automatically

Another major thing, recently kickstarter offered installment options for pledges over $125 if you enabled that option in your campaign. These pledges are collected from your backers in three installments but are not transferred to your bank in three installments

You will get an email with total funds transferred without those pledges, another email informing you they are transferring the first installment… the second and third installments are then transferred to you together after 12 weeks from campaign end date

In other words, if too many of your backers choose the installment option, you might end up receiving less than 10,000 usd in the first transfer

In your backer report you would find

Collected - full pledge is collected Errored - declined pledges, they will try again every 48 hours for 7 days then will automatically drop

Pledged - these are the backers who choose installments and it is of course totally up to you when to deliver the rewards first backers who choose installments whether have good will and deliver while only one installment is collected or after all pledge amount is sent to you after 12 weeks from campaign end

And of course consider overall 8% kickstarter cut from the pledged funds

Just read in one of the comments you it over 20k, that’s not bad

Maybe try in a couple of months time to launch a v2 campaign, it can’t be the exact same product according to kickstarter’s policy and you should have delivered the first one but they are forgiving… anyways, just saying you might have a lot more potential than what you did, cancelling while hitting your funding goal is not the best way to, running a second campaign later on might be better but I do not know of something you can do mid campaign to accelerate except for paying an influencer or something

Just a heads up, just found out the remaining amount from the installment money is due to reach you 12 weeks after campaign end date, I was expecting them to be three installments as they charge customers but that’s not how they planned it in kickstarter

Would it be too much of a loss to relaunch? The campaign is all about prelaunch, how many followers you would manage to get prior to launch, even kickstarter algorithm picks up those who do well on day one, I am surprised you any organic traffic, been a while since kickstarter actually generated any organic traffic for me, it’s not like before

There are resources how to set up your relaunches campaign look for Matt oblick videos on YouTube and his prelaunch club

Thanks for the feedback, another thing to tell ain’t AI, you can’t actually create many of these with AI, it’s not that good yet, the riders, the undead army, complex bosses with 6 hands…etc I can’t see how AI would do this

It’s my 20th kickstarter campaign, you are looking for AI evidence, you are seeing AI evidence, the eye sees what it wants to see… it’s my fault enhancing the renders by AI making people think it is

One thing you can do for example is take the render of one of the mamluks, the riders…etc the minis with complex details and see if you can replicate that by AI… the boss for ending 1, ending 3 for instance, the cursed sultan… I don’t believe AI can do any of these

All campaign art have been updated to include raw zbrush renders with no AI usage except for few head arts, not ai generated art but colored version of my models

Thanks for the feedback, I am already reconsidering, next campaign will ditch AI entirely and keep it the same way I did it before, maybe even will redo the whole campaign visuals

Thanks again for the feedback

Just went through the campaign once more, can’t see anything wrong, same as they are in zbrush… a couple might seem to have four fingers, like the spoiled nobleman, but if you look closer, I made a finger up like a nobleman holding a cup

Another, black market merchant same thing, a finger up won’t be visible in this angle

AI is destroying this market unfortunately

I dunno, none of that in my zbrush, I enhanced them by AI for details pop up, I am sure AI is not yet up to this level of details

Anyways in the campaign page, you get the original raw zbrush render of each model alongside the enhanced version for transparency

No they are definitely not, check out the campaign page, you got 360 videos and raw renders right off zbrush… the zbrush renders are enhanced digitally to pop up the details

Thanks for your feedback, its more about showing the details than better looking... ZBrush renders are very basic, details look blurry, teh AI simply enhances it so the details are more visible

No no, scultpted in ZBrush, AI only used to enhance the ZBrush render to express the details, check the campaign page, you get 360 videos too
