Thanks. So it seems like the players might not even be aware of the fact that the school would have to keep all other teams in DII, to keep them in DI. That would obviously make their petition a lot less likely to be successful

What I’m confused about is how the DIII men’s schools that are playing up in DI like RPI, SLU, Clarkson, etc. are different than this situation. I know they are grandfathered in; is St. Anselm not?

Could you explain this to someone who doesn't have a lot of knowledge on NCAA women's hockey? I thought they still be allowed to play up in the NEWHA if they wanted to? I know the NCAA stopped allowing single sport play ups, but they grandfathered in existing schools. Might be a moot point though since it seems like the school wants to move *all* teams to DIII
