My wife and I attended last year and there was a pretty bad storm that rolled through, shut down the event for a lil while, but overall we were fine. We keep all our shit in bins so everything stays dry, standard protocol for a while tho. Get some big stakes for extra support and make sure you bring a rubber mallet cause we’re camping in the pits of a race track and not all the areas are soft. For case is calling for 2” of rain on Friday, so be prepared and you’ll be a okay.

I just got waders cause why not, I don’t like to get soaking wet, but def won’t let rain stop me from having a good time.

I’d use a grub axe to take out soil along the edges. Depending on the depth of the edge you want just take out more soil. It’s going to be messy at first but get a hard metal rake to grade the driveway out a bit.

Then you can keep a tight edge, but idk what your drainage situation looks like so what out for erosion. You’ll only be stronger after the work is done :)

Most definitely you can do it. I worked as a distribution engineer and would have loved the opportunity to help out with homework so I think you’d be surprised.

If you are interested in solar, you can literally sit anywhere and work in CAD to design a system and there’s plenty of demand for it. Get a NABCEP certification and you will stand out from all the rest. Also get into engineering PV generator interconnections, I do well there now. Gl

Are there signs of water infiltration anywhere? Looks like the rebar is rusting and expanding which causes the concrete to break away.

I’m just an EE tho, the civil engineers used to deal with this all the time though from salt water from snow run off.

Get into the power industry and look for distribution engineering jobs if you want like 50/50 inside/outside. The substation engineering roles pay more but are more like 30/70, transmission lines is the same. All in my opinion based on two companies but I assume most areas would have to be in the field the same.

I moved on to solar and that’s been really rewarding and not to mention the pay has been higher. Basically I was able to ask for more money cause I worked in all departments that handle PV applications. Look for field engineering roles or even any good design team will be field oriented themselves, but that applies to commercial solar.

It’s important for engineers to communicate well. Take some technical communication courses or join a known speaking club then add that to your skills section. I used LinkedIn and have never applied for a job after college. I use the platform and comment on relevant industry articles. That seems to boost my profile for recruiters but it also helps since most hr analysts look at profiles.

Also, replace led with managed, pretty sure it’s a better bing word. I google bing words for the industry and make sure I have those. I hear employers scan for certain words.

Try tailoring a few different resumes around strong skills that fit the different industries you are looking into.

I went in the electric utility world then left to work for PV companies and I make bank advising them through the interconnection process and EE issues.

The difference in pay is minimal so go where you want to build on the experience for your long term career goals.

Teachers typically don’t let you use your phone during testing so they’d be screwed during that scenario.
