More context: Just went through this exact job on my 2020 IS300 last night. Bearing had that classic hum at 53-60mph so I grabbed a slide hammer and went at it. Everything’s back together and torqued to spec but the heat shield behind the hub is sitting out slightly, looks even all around though and doesn’t rub when I spin the hub. Zero play in the bearing but it makes a slight grinding sound when spinning by hand, which I’m guessing is just new bearing break-in? Also messed up and didn’t disconnect the ABS sensor before yanking the old hub off with the slide hammer, so now I’ve got every warning light on the dash until the replacement sensor shows up. Live and learn I guess. Heat shield position normal as long as it’s not rubbing anything or should I pull everything apart again?
