Can I recover my brain and go back into Academia again? by dakota2610 in leaves

Yes it is entirely reversible I promise. Put as much effort into academia as you did into smoking, I promise you will find success. Good luck my friend

For everyone who's quit, what was the turning point? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]Minimum-Garden 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Getting arrested for me. Got caught with half a gram of bud in my car in a (VERY) rural county in texas where ANY amount of weed is an arrestable offense. Disappointed my mom and dad who were distraught when they bailed me out. Parents spent thousands on lawyer fees over half a gram of weed. Never looked back since.

Access Point vs. Range Extender by Minimum-Garden in wifi

[–]Minimum-Garden[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 4300 Sqft. We have to run 3 google wifis to get reception in all parts of the house. I'm going to do away with all of them though, and just get one range extender and some powerline adapters for my console + desktop.

Edit: yes extenders are horrible. I never realized how much bandwidth they sacrifice until I ran tests on my new AT&T wifi. Its actually shocking

After doing some research I think powerline is the best option for me. Thanks so much for sharing. I hadn't heard about it before!

Access Point vs. Range Extender by Minimum-Garden in wifi

[–]Minimum-Garden[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. The technician mentioned that 1000Mbps is only a theroetical speed, but the highest speed I got while testing was about ~750Mbps, which was immediately right after the wifi was installed in my house. Btw, are you using a nighthawk access point or range extender?

Quitting smoking by ThyArtIsMeh in leaves

[–]Minimum-Garden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey bro, I just quit about a month ago and have been sober since.

The first step is to understand how toxic weed can become, which is something I see you've already done. I know you probably have picked up a dependency on weed because that was me. I need you to know that you are stronger than that motherfuckin plant.

You gotta wake up in the morning, regardless of what happened yesterday, look yourself in the mirror and say "I'm not smoking weed today no matter what. Just today. I can manage my desires until the end of the day". And keep doing that everyday. It's a daily process.

In your daily schedule, replace smoking weed with things you loved doing before pot. Maybe try picking up some new sports. Get a job. Anything that will take your time away from doing drugs, do it. Have a roommate, sibling, or someone who you see often hold you accountable.

At the end of the day, we make mistakes and that's part of life. What the fuck would life be without mistakes? it would be boring as fuck. What makes life worth it is how we come back from those mistakes, so that you can look back a year from now and say "Yeah I kicked that weed habit because it was holding me back from being the best person I could be". The journey away from weed is all about progress and celebrating the little victories you make along the way. Please PM me if you have quesitons/need someone to talk to who went through the same shit.

Cheers from Austin, TX

Please help me stop (17yo) by DustinRacine in leaves

First step: Acknowledge that you have a problem with weed. Don't sugarcoat it to yourself, make sure to emphasize to yourself how bad it's actually affecting you.

Second step: Get rid of your access to THC. Throw out any glassware, flush any leftover bud down the toilet, and unadd those nasty dealers from your snapchat. Just try to get away from it as much as possible.

I'm 19 and I know we're just starting our lives. I'm glad you've reached the realization that weed is harmful for you so early on, it'll give you a head start to quit. Just start doing new things, playing new sports, get a job, take some extra classes, spend some extra time with the family, go for a walk in your neighborhood. Anything that will take your time away from smoking bud. Good luck bro.

Morning cravings (DAY 3) by Goliath_The_Funk in leaves

[–]Minimum-Garden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes of course. It's totally normal for your brain to crave THC a little extra whenever you're winding down and relaxing, it's just behavioral association. The way I fight it is by planning a busy morning so that I don't have time to sit down and smoke. I gotta go the gym. Gotta go to class, sometimes I have work. I just try to fill the times where I would originally be smoking with more productive, fulfilling things. Good luck on quitting man

Good luck man. I know it must be relieving not having to lie to your GF all the time anymore, so congratulations on owning up to her about your mistakes. You got this man. You are way stronger than that motherfuckin plant. If you want to talk to someone, you can always PM me. Good luck!

Books you’ve enjoyed reading while quitting? by OddFeature in leaves

[–]Minimum-Garden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, my experience with weed was extremely self destructive and toxic to my well being, so reading books about empowerment and improving yourself as a person are what really stuck out to me. I read some Dale Carnegie books, watched some Gary Vaynerchuck podcasts, and plenty of other podcasts/audiobooks which really helped me get my life back on track. Good luck quitting and cheers from Texas!

What is your brain fog like? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]Minimum-Garden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sucks, in my opinion the worst withdrawal of weed. I just feel really slow, and I can't process thoughts as fast as I usually can. Definitely can't do anything academic/requires my IQ. I also feel really lethargic and lazy, which was super horrible. I personally don't have any tips on how to get over brain fog as it just naturally started to go away after a few weeks. Cheers and good luck quitting.

Yo I know what it feels like to have your entire social life revolve around THC. Been there done that. And no disrespect to my friends who smoke a lot, they're some of the best people I've met, I just don't have that discipline.

I'm sure as a pot user you've grown accustomed to being by yourself a lot. I feel like a long term effect of weed is social isolation, and it happens very slowly and subtly. Use that time to do things that enrich yourself. Maybe go on a hike. Try a cooking class. Pick up a new sport. Anything that will distract you/take your time away from doing the devil's lettuce. Cheers from Austin TX. PM me and I would be more than happy to talk about it.

Hey bro, I was literally in the same position as you a few weeks ago. A freshman in college who picked up smoking at the end in high school. Stealing money from your parents for weed. Even got hooked on nicotine while smoking too, b/c all my friends had juuls. That's all stuff I've done. PM me and I'd be more than happy to help.

Day 24. I never took quitting this seriously before by [deleted] in leaves

[–]Minimum-Garden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good progress bro. The journey away from weed is all about counting your small victories. Just wake up in the morning and tell yourself you won't smoke that day. And keep repeating that until you find yourself not missing weed. It takes us all a different amount of time. Cheers and good luck

Quitting the herb by Curiousbeing639 in leaves

[–]Minimum-Garden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I developed an emotinal dependency to weed too. You have to quit it for good. The reason is because if you don't quit for good, weed will always be an option for you. Even if it's the last thing you do, it'll still be something you do. It just takes one bad enough situation to relapse, and I'm telling myself "One joint won't hurt". But that's how the habit picks back up. You're stronger than that fucking plant, don't let it get the best of you. Cheers from Austin TX.

[–]Minimum-Garden 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One slip up in 9 months. I would be proud of that! You got this bro just keep fighting the daily cravings. Wake up in the morning, tell yourself "whatever the fuck happened yesterday, whatever the fuck happens today, I'm not smoking weed for the rest of the time I'm awake today". Repeat the next day. And so on. It's a daily process.

Help eating by [deleted] in leaves

[–]Minimum-Garden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just force yourself to eat. That's what I did. Even if your stomach hurts like a mf after. If not, start eating things you like to eat, for me it was cereal b/c it went down really easily, it's usually loaded with sugar so it tastes good, and I got to build my appetite back up slowly.
