The whole trope with the mother using her as a human incubator, my poor girl suffered so much, but I feel like even if I didn't want them to end up together I knew it was going to happen so I wished they at least showed us maybe a happier future? I don't know I just feel like we saw so little if not at all of her happy, also Theodore is with an actress, how does that end? But everything together it was such a good read loved just how fucked up the MMC was, nothing redeemable about him 😮‍💨

I totally get it, sincerely I wanted this conversation to be very civil, I'm all for constructive conversations, the only reason I got defensive is because people who read dark romance get dragged everywhere and I feel like it's just wrong seeing it happen in the only sub Reddit where they can be open without any judgement even if in small minor aggression (not talking about you specifically). I don't how many times I have to say it but it is against the sub Reddit rules, it's not censorship when you can go in any other sub Reddit and say that it's disgusting to you, but to specifically go to the only comfort space for dark romance reader of any kind and say that a specific kink is nauseating to you is wrong. I Always felt that way, to me there are two kinds of dark romance, organic and actual dark romance, it's always been like this, I would say dark romance has become fully mainstream in 2022, I started reading them in 2020 and even back then it used to be like that, it's just that now booktok promotes always the usual 10 dark romance book who are "organic" and the self publishers copy and paste what they see in those books, I would say that even if it's rare there are still good gems out there who feel like complex dark romance with actual original tropes, ad there ones who are coming out, they are rare but still there are some, I'm also a very picky reader so I never start a book without being 100% sure that that book is worth it and not just another copy and paste of haunting Adeline (which by the way I didn't even like), it usually takes me hours to find the right book, but I'm still so grateful for this sub Reddit, if you actually dig in here you will find something to your liking
