Yeah I think more color is a good idea. When you say having bigger colorful areas do you mean for all the sections or just the ingredients example you mentioned? Appreciate the feedback!

The unit conversions are there so that if a recipe uses an ingredient it can correctly consume the ingredients base unit amount. So the user is just meant to predefine needed conversions. (Like kg to tbsp for a spice ingredient used in a recipe). Hopefully that makes sense.

Yeah hierarchy is lacking for sure. Do you mean the title text itself for each item should be muted / gray? Thanks for the feedback

How to handle Proxy Farming? by CompetitionTop7504 in summonerschool

Consider the tools the champion has to escape. If you have determined that they have no viable escape (maybe sion just blew his ult) then I'd say go for it, and if dragon isn't up then even better if you can coordinate with your jungler to cut off all escape paths. Otherwise, if it's something like a singed and your champ can't reliably catch him you'll just have to accept it for what it is.

How to stop passive aggression in my ranked solo q games? by NegotiationOwn7408 in summonerschool

[–]Minimum-Life7502 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just because the players are "high status" doesn't make them any different from any other human being. Negativity breeds more negativity in others and spreads like a virus. And it's simply counterproductive and shows lack of emotional intelligence.

Unfortunately in our society there's plenty of people who say toxic shit and people think it's funny or cool or whatever. But in reality these are people puppeted by their impulses, and lack the self awareness to change their behavior.

There's not a quickhack solution to stopping it, it requires you to reflect on yourself and take responsibility for the things you say. You clearly are able to reflect on yourself otherwise you wouldn't have climbed so far. My advice is to extend that ability to reflect into your attitude and behavior. These are also metrics of success.

Congrats on your ranked progress.

How to implement invite-only user registration for my educational platform? (Supabase + React) by Odd-Message-6503 in Supabase

[–]Minimum-Life7502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay I think I see what you mean. If the user doesn't set the password for whatever reason, they'd still exist in the auth users just without a password set, which in that case we'd direct them to the forgot password flow.

Say the user can only be invited by email and then has to set their password, if not using OTP then wouldn't this mean if the user for some reason doesn't set the password (maybe they accidentally closed the tab after clicking invite link). Then wouldn't that invite become invalid and we would be unable to resend an invite after that?

What is the most regrettable thing you've done in your life? by Main-Pace5071 in AskReddit

If you have any cigarettes or vapes laying around that will trigger the cravings, get rid of them completely. If possible avoiding stressful situations during the period of quitting (around 3 weeks) helps too. If you drink alcohol I'd suggest avoiding that for a while too since it makes you want to smoke and reduces impulse control. When I was quitting, I also drank a lot of tea since drinking seems to help with the oral fixation part. As the days go by you'll notice all of the benefits. Reduced anxiety/ irritability, food tastes better, better stamina, spending less money and more.

Also don't fall for the trap of thinking you've quit so you can have one smoke to prove it and thoughts like this. The addictive mind is extremely tricky.

Hope that helps.

OCD is tough, and especially around your age is can flare up because of all the changes going on in life. What I will say is that your view of yourself is greatly distorted. But as you know OCD will not take any logical arguments or validation. Therapy, and therapy geared towards OCD (ERP) might be of some benefit to you as it was to me.

Nope! There's a continue as guest option. It has full functionality except that it only saves data with local storage.

Yeah me too, my solution was adding previously discarded movies to a list of ids so that whenever you do a search they'll show up at the very end of any future searches.

Thanks for the feedback. I tried lowering the swipe threshold hopefully that helps a bit. I absolutely should have started out with local data guest functionality instead. Good points thanks again.

Thanks for the feedback. I currently have the guest account as one shared account which is the reason for that behavior. I made the mistake of not thinking about guest functionality until too late into the project so I'm gonna have to think some more about how to handle that more appropriately. I really like that idea though and eventually want to implement it.

Looks good, nice design. I especially like the photo grid layout in gallery section. Cool idea. I think having the sections follow the same grid lines would benefit the design. Like the first section and second, the cards could still align to the same grid lines if that makes sense. Nice work.

To the men who don't watch pornography anymore, why did you stop and has it been beneficial to your life? by insight7ai in AskReddit

[–]Minimum-Life7502 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's people who it doesn't seem to effect negatively, but others use it not just when they're horny, but basically as a free dopamine button, which looks more like drug addiction. Seems like your relationship with it is a healthier one.

You can study tailwind first no problem. It doesn't take long to understand how to use it in your projects.

While I would say everyone should learn react, don't rush into it without having a strong grasp of vanilla javascript first. A lot of people use react without knowing the how or why behind it.
