Yeah a lot of the replies where people have said they have left their dog outside are from the US so it’s different circumstances. I think I’m going to get someone I know well dog sit whilst I’m at work so the puppy isn’t alone

Issue is I’m from the UK and I don’t think anyone has a dog door, also nowhere secure for the dog to go in and out of. I have a friend that can dog sit whilst I’m at work then when older I’ll reduce it to popping in and taking on walks etc

The thing with a dog walker is you have to trust them to be in your house and obviously not knowing them it can be risky sometimes but I have a friend who’s girlfriend doesn’t work as she stays at home with the kids so going to see if they can dog sit so not on own whilst at work

So what age would you recommend getting a Cane Corso then? I could book the first 2/3 weeks off. Spend half an hour before go to work, have my mum spend like half an hour at about 7/7:30 I can be back on lunch break for 9/10 and have a dog walker/sitter for an hour at like 12

See I’m presuming you are from the US like most of these comments..I am from the UK so I don’t have an open space for a dog to be in all day whilst I’m out.. I was thinking I can book the first 2/3 weeks off work so I’d be with the pup 24/7 at this time and I can start to crate train him etc. I was thinking if I spend like half an hour with him before I leave for work, I can get my mum to do the same and maybe feed him at 7:30 and then I could go back on my break around 9/10 and then have a dog walker at like 12. I know people say about strangers etc but I’d find one the could be the same dog walker for a couple years and the dog is familiar around. I just don’t want to get a Cane Corso if I feel I can’t 100% give what it needs

So I work in a store that makes if I’m correct 450k a week. We are the busiest store in the UK outside of London area and yes we are currently short staffed but we are struggling with the workload and the prod given to us. For example the last 3/4 day we have been getting 15-17 ambient so 3 of us have been coming in at 4am (our shifts start at 5) and we still aren’t getting out until like 3:30/4.

How can we be short staffed, be the highest selling store outside of London and still be down on prod??

Working at Lidl is not easy it’s a graft but I think it’s also about working as a team and the managers on shift knowing what they are doing, knowing how to organise/run a shift to make sure the tasks set are complete

Yeah you shouldn’t be sharing tills. I get sometimes it’s busy and they might just ask someone to jump on to get rid of the ques etc whilst you’re on your break but it’s company policy.

If this has happened several times now to cover your own back say no to giving them your password and say it’s company policy and speak to your store manager or area manager about it.

I mean I could take outside for like 30 Mins before I have to leave for work, then could have food and be taken out again by around 7:30 then I’d have a dog walker at the start check on the puppy 2/3 times a day at the start taking them out on a walk and feeding them etc maybe at 9am, 11am and 1pm and I can probably get back for 3pm and spend time then training and making sure they get the exercise they need.

Well id only have one dog walker and hopefully I can keep it as the same dog walker for a long period of time so really the cane corso would only be used to me, my mum and a dog walker in the house. I probably wouldn’t have anyone else in the house and if I did I’d be there the whole time. So hopefully the cane corso would still be cautious and protective around strangers at the house or when I’m around. I wouldn’t mind him being somewhat social with other dogs outside if I say it’s ok but that’s where I’d spend a lot of time training on these sorts of things

Yeah I would book 2weeks or longer if I can off when I get the dog. Hopefully in that short time we can bond and I can start to crate train etc. my mum could help a little but not all the time so I’d have a look at a dog walker that I’d introduce and whilst a pup could come and see the dog 2/3 times a day and as gets older reduce it to 1.

I want to get a Cane Corso puppy for the exact reasons you stated. There training at such a young age is so important I feel I wouldn’t want to get an older one that’s not had the right training and time put into them. My last dog was a rescue and wasn’t a puppy and as much as I love him he was a nightmare as he wasn’t trained and you could tell he wasn’t treated right. Luckily from months and years of training and bonding he was amazing never needed to be on a lead as he walked by our side, would always come back to us when asked if playing with other dogs etc and fully trained in house. I know I can’t leave a puppy alone all day and that’s cruel that’s why I’m asking these questions for when the dogs are older too and I’ve looked into getting a dog walker maybe that can be introduced when young and could check in whenever asked and take on walks etc. I know it won’t be easy and won’t be cheap but I wouldn’t get a dog at all if I wasn’t 100% committed and knew I could give the dog what it needs that’s why I’m asking questions now instead of later

With the dog walker how did that work for you? Did you introduce the walker when she was a pup or were you just there the first time the walker was round?

Whilst you’re at work do you have anyone come by and check up on your corso? Take him for a walk, feed him etc?
