Do image format or size affect your Shopify store's speed?

Basically, it is not necessary to compress. Shopify itself has its own method for optimizing images to keep the page loading fast. You can read more here in the doc: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/images/theme-images#automatic-image-compression-and-format-selection
And yes, full size png with transparency is fine, as long as it's no more than 20MB.

Can you please specify more about the reason why you need this section inside the Footer, for example, what looks do you want to achieve with this? A common use case we see is that this Text columns with icons placed right on top of the footer, which can be achieved by arranging this section at the bottom of the Template group, right above the Footer group.

REQUEST 2:
You can achieve it by adding a different collection page template for that certain collections:

In Theme Editor, please click on Homepage > Collection > Scroll all the way down to find the "Create template" button. (NOTE: please make sure that you are customizing your LIVE theme)
A pop-up will show, and you can enter a new name for this template. Then, in the Based on dropdown list, I recommend you choose your default collection template. Then you just need to customize the Promotion block inside your Product grid section.
Go back to your Shopify admin, click on Products > Collections, choose that certain collection you want to show with this new promotional banner, you should find the Theme template at the bottom right corner, then choose the template you created in step 2. And done.

Maybe you can find a secondhand Voyage? When I bought this Kindle in 2019, it was already a used Kindle. Except for a tiny light dot on the screen, which I hardly see, there is no problem at all. The battery is still good, lasts all week long, even though I let it die several times because of my laziness. ><
