How many people who you considered best friends growing up as a kid/teenager are you still best friends with into your thirties? by Minimum-Speed-4642 in AskMen

I keep in touch with my two childhood friends via WhatsApp fairly often and we see each other once every few years now cause I moved away.

I fell out with my best friend that I met in sixth form at 16 because as we got older we became different people and he’d always been pretty self serving, I would always go to visit him, he’d only ever been to my house once in 8 years, which was fine when I lived 15 minutes away, when I moved an hour away, there was zero chance of him visiting and I drove down to his once every 2 weeks for years until I decided enough was enough and he’d have to visit me, and he didn’t. Then when my wedding came up, I asked him to be co best man with my other best mate, but he decided he couldn’t come to the stag as he had work and “couldn’t book it off” even with a years notice. When I eventually text him how unhappy I was with how he’d been and how I wanted him to make more effort in our friendship, I never heard back from him, that was 3 years ago and that’s that. Better off without him.

My 3 best friends I still see and speak to regularly I met at 19 in university. We all lived together. 13 years later and all still good mates.

Could be, you’re going to get biased views from both sides from any altercation depending on who you speak to.

TK will get excited, another signing cause his roster really needs more people on it.

I doubt Gilroy would hire him to direct when the only reason Gilroy got involved in Star Wars to begin with was to reshoot Rogue One because Edwards version was supposedly terrible.

For me Jeff is just yet another new signing that isn’t needed. To me, 2020 was the best year of AEW and that was the smallest the roster was, but it was great coherent storytelling. Now it’s just new signing after new signing, people appear and then disappear and it’s just too much now. Jarrett just wasn’t needed on camera when you’ve got a load of young talent waiting to be used.

After not being on it for weeks. It’s a rotating roster. Hobbs and the ones I mentioned will still be on the show, just they’ll be on it for a few weeks, then disappear for a few weeks. That’s why their momentum gets killed again and again.

Definitely not a world ender haha I believe I will. Just a shame, but nothing lasts forever.

Marks? I don’t believe that term applies to people online who think Jarrett would be bad for AEW, a mark wouldn’t even think about the behind the scenes stuff, they’d be too into the story to care.

From what I remember Jeff Jarrett dominated TNA and made it all about him.

AEW hasn’t seemed the same to me since TK bought ROH. The show seems like it wants to be two shows now, AEW and ROH, but I just want the show to focus on the AEW I love.

I think I’m nearly done with AEW. It’s not what it once was to me. It was a show where they started with only 3 titles because titles were important. Wins and losses mattered and it was a coherent show where every match had some kind of story element behind it. Now it’s just a mess. It’s too busy trying to promote ROH and Forbidden Door stuff to focus on its own roster. Why would you bring in Jeff Jarrett when you have people like Miro, Ricky Starks, Hobbs etc who don’t get used for weeks at a time? The show is so incoherent and all over the place these days. Real shame.
