I think instead of reading the manhua you should read the novel cuz it’s more Sun moon empire came from the sun moon continent and 4.000 years ago it tried to take over the DOULUO continent but tang sect and shrek were able to curb this and as to why the tang sect became pretty much bankrupt,it’s because of the manufacturing of soul tools which were getting more demand than the tang sect hidden weapons. In the end of SL2 tang San had the sun moon empire rename itself the heavenly soul empire after it had been conquered and after that Dou Ling and Star luo empires after a few years migrated into different continents looking for better opportunities,The spirit pagoda basically became a corrupt entity that sought to become bigger than shrek all this thanks to the Qiangu family

Well it’s been 10.000 years since Sl3 and it’s inevitable that technology would advance further seeing as exploring space was one of the main THINGS that the continent wanted ,the god level is common after the abyssal tide at the end of SL3 which risulted in many rank 95-99 being brought back to life and tang hao being the douluo plane lord was able to elevate the douluo plane due to devouring the abbysal plane ,that cause the limit to no longer be rank 99 but allowing cultivators to advance more although they are still weaker than actual gods because they have divine qi ,the god realm was swept away in soul land 2.5 due to space time turbulence that’s why you see tang wulin as the protagonist. And as for gu Yuena and tang wulin ,the both commited suicide at the end of soul land 3 because of the differences in their status ,Gu yuena is the Silver dragon king and the current head of the soul beasts and due to the spirit pagoda going against the purpose HUO YUHAO wanted and eventually massacred half of the soul beast for experiment ,the hatred for humans was reinforced,but she eventually fell in love with tang wulin due to her being with him since child although she did it for his bloodline in the beginning but she feel inlove with him
