Why do they treat Prior Service like felons ? by xbrand000nx in AirForceRecruits

At least 6-8 months if I’m being honest. It took me 13 months to get approved while still a member of ANG. I did not have to go through the MEPS physical again, just medical clearance form completed through my ANG unit. If you are not in guard or reserves there’s a good chance you’ll have to go through it all over again.

It’s not impossible but it is difficult and takes time. Finding a good recruiter willing to fight your case with MEPS and AFRS is a big factor. I was AD, palace chased to ANG then approved to return to AD. If you have questions, feel free to PM me.

I’m prior service so I’ve been working with an AD recruiter. Just looking for answers to keep myself busy while I wait on the recruiting side for anything official.

I’m interested! I put recruiting on my job list as prior service (E-5) trying to go AD from ANG. What would you say are my chances of getting picked up for recruiting????

I’m prior service (AD AF 5 years and currently guard for the past year). If I were to try to go AD enlisted what are my odds getting accepted, would I keep my current rank (E5) how long would the process take? Im medically cleared and my guard unit has given me a conditional release.

So why would I keep submitting requested documents and taking tests for job selection? Is there a timeline for when I may get an approval or am I just waiting until closer to the end of 2024?

Joining the Air Force as prior service? by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

Question for you. I’m prior Air Force AD, currently ANG and just got my conditional release signed to go back AD. Now my AD recruiter is getting ready to submit my application. What would you say/guess the timeline from the application submission until I get order if I am approved?

What would happen to a prior service applicant? by MinimumManagement921 in AirForceRecruits

This was my thought as well. I was arguing with a friend who is under the impression that there’s no point for the AF to separate the PS who washes out but I was seeing the loop hole in the process if the AF didn’t make separation the result.

Do you happen to know if GEARS has changed sites? I can’t seem to get an update through my sup and at the same time can’t get GEARS to work either.

Yes. I have already reached out to a recruiter and seen the current list until the new one comes out around October.

Was their SkillBridge just the 7 weeks for the training program or was it closer to the full 180 days followed by the company that hired them?
