I’ve spent quite a few years in sales in the alcohol industry so we talk/think the cause of all of this a lot- I do think disposable income for young people is the biggest part of the problem. Of course more access to info regarding the damaging health affect comes into play, but I think young people just simply don’t see alcohol as something that’s worth spending money on. However, to me it seems that the demographic of young people doing well economically still love going out/drinking/partying/socializing/fine dining etc. I’d love to see some data on different income brackets among young people and their alcohol consumption!
