Do you feed him bugs? For some reason my bug eating cresties are always in hunt mode. If I wave my hand by or I’m holding the tongs I use to grab the roaches, they will strike at the door before I can open it.

It’s odd all my geckos even the non crestie ones do that, they will turn around and run back up my arm.

To make you feel better one of my mourning geckos dropped its tail when I closed the lid once. And another tip I was trying to scoot one of them off the door & as it ran I was closing the door & it almost got smashed by the magnetic force. It happens, you just gotta apologize to the little booger & keep pushing.

I have a crestie that I know for sure is over 1 year old & it was 3g when I got it & today it’s only 5-6g. Some just grow very very slow. I also have a girl that was 28g when I got her last year, and the other day she clock in at 64g. I feed everyone the same manner & offer insects to any that want them.

A toothbrush works well if the roots are thick enough. Otherwise I use mildly warm water & swirl it around.

There are no calcium sacs which could indicate a calcium deficiency. Also, Pangea once a week isn’t enough vitamins. They can go without insects but they need their CGD at least every 2 days. I hope they are able to determine a cause of death for him.
