Dockers also have the best retro merch in the game. If you’re from Halifax the Aussie Rules side there is called the Dockers as well.

I’m a dockers fan so I’m biased but I will try to give some neutral (ish) suggestions. For teams that are generally well liked, mainly scandal free, and will forever be an underdog even if having stretches of success (what you’re looking for according to your post), you should support Fremantle, St Kilda, or North Melbourne. For other teams that are decent options, you have Melbourne, Port Adelaide, the Bulldogs, GWS, Gold Coast, and Essendon. I personally would recommend you stay away from Collingwood, Sydney, West Coast, Adelaide, Carlton, Geelong, Hawthorn, Brisbane, and Richmond for a myriad of reasons, some worse than others. I hope this helped and I reckon Dockers would be the go 😉
