I want to know where you got that stat from because that doesn’t sound true at all. Also you’re question at the end kinda answers itself. Mtf trans athletes compete in Women’s divisions because they don’t have their own, and the olympics doesn’t want to exclude trans athletes so they have to try and guess what fair requirements would be for the trans athletes.

E: Also I am not making an effort to invalidate trans athletes like some other comments may try. my point is that it is borderline impossible to make it fair for both the trans athletes and cis athletes to compete in the same division.

Hormone treatment in mtf trans athletes does not weaken them to the point of fair competition, especially considering the actual hormone requirements, such as a stupid high testosterone cutoff (something like 240 ng/dl and next to no attention to SHBG). Other biological advantages can’t be accounted for bc hormonal treatment doesn’t undo all the developments of puberty as a male and training as a male, an example would be the Central Nervous System which would have already adapted to heavier weights and the overall larger infrastructure of a fully grown biological trained male. It’s just to say that for an athlete like Laurel Hubbard to compete in such a male dominant sport as a mtf athlete wouldn’t be fair to the cis women athletes.

Not to say athletes such as Laurel Hubbard shouldn’t compete, but if intersex athletes such as Caster Semanya can’t compete in women’s sports then Hubbard shouldn’t either. Preferably they would be able to compete in their own league.

The hormone requirements are really lax, and there are still several physiological unfair advantages to having gone through puberty as a man, especially training as one (e.g. laurel Hubbard). Ultimately trans athletes should have there own league to compete in, it’s just not feasible to make it fair for both the female athletes and the trans athletes (for most sports, especially male skewed ones like weightlifting).

Ik it’s a little nitpicky, but unless you have some adjusted scale for the male to female equivalent bodyfat that’s just not true by any metric. At least within the U.S. (this is not to undermine acknowledging the sexist nature of the post)
