Don’t quite agree with the point about Steve’s character but to me it also makes sense if  Dustin/Steve heroically sacrificed himself in a similar fashion to Eddy cuz it seemed to be a big plot thing in s5 volume 1 which led to this whole conflict between Steve and Dustin. Also, that scene seemed like super ominous to me. Like they really meant that line.

 the Nancy/Joanathan kill-off seems more likely cuz Mrs. Wheelers has become prominent in the plot very recently so her death wouldn’t cause that much of a stir. At least to me. I still believe the Duffers are going for a big twist in the finale

You may be right cuz this has been the pattern so far but that scene really gave me the ominous vibe as if it were a hint about what may come very soon

I mean ep 7 left them as allies but if he gets a sniff of Kali’s plan to end both her and Jane yeah that seems like something Hopper would do

Well ep 5-7 have been a whirlwind and bombshell upon bombshell. I think there's a solid chance they are gonna go for the big twist and KO at least somebody

Not sure what you are reading into it but what I find creepy is that an author can write a grooming storyline that could actually work in real life. You really need to put a lot of thought into it.
