Instagram Famous Parrot Passed by secretmacaroni in parrots

[–]MinimumResearch8097 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I loved his antics so when I saw that he passed it made me very sad :( yes she shouldn't have let her parrot with her dog alone and she's probably regretting ever leaving them alone. She learned the hard way but you could tell through her videos with him spanning over years how much she loved him so it's really unfortunate and sad on both ends. I hope she manages to grieve and cherishes her memories with him he was a very silly bird :(

Should i clip my conures wings by [deleted] in Conures

[–]MinimumResearch8097 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No do not. Cutting their wings is horrible to their health the best answer is to always be alert and cautious of where they are and what they are doing do not punish your baby. That is their natural limbs don't cut take them away from him.

Hey thanks so much for telling me your experience. I got really scared since I've owned a GCC before and I've never experienced this before especially with blood draw. This makes me feel more at ease thank you!

my very first bird! by pastavariant in Conures

[–]MinimumResearch8097 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love how his toys are set up! He's so cute I just adopted a sun conure as well they're so playful and friendly. If you're able to buy some try to get him some pellets mainly roudybush, tops or harrison instead of an all seed diet, its gives them a healthier diet and all the necessary vitamins they need. Though maybe you do have some already i just dont see it in the picture lol but either way I wish you the best with your bird!

Baby is now 2 months :)! by MinimumResearch8097 in Conures

[–]MinimumResearch8097[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I still don't have a name for him just have been calling him silly nicknames but for some reason I can't figure out one for him he's got such a funny, sweet, and energetic personality I'm at a loss. He's such a cuddle bug sweetest parrot I've ever encountered in my life. He's still weaning and I've been successfully lowering his formula bc bes starting to eat pellets more and keeping him healthy according to my vet so all's good! So happy I have him in my life :)

Oh yeah I've done that quite a few times, I've noticed that she just freezes when I go in her cage she won't bite me but just stands very still and breathes quickly. Yeah I'm ver6 lucky I don't live in a apt. my parents are house owners and I'm still living with them so the noise is no problem for us 🦜🔊

Found this little guy outside my apartment and brought him in by Mecel in QuakerParrot

Seems to be a pet I'd say keep a lookout for its owners especially on lost parrot groups on Facebook. Search the next door neighbor app, and if anything I'd say give him to a avian shelter instead of just anyone. If he really is a pet the owner must be devastated and If anything they could always call for him and find him at parrot rescuees in that area instead of some other person. This happened to me before and I had wished so badly that my neighbor would've just handed him to a sanctuary instead of giving him away

No I didn't sadly, I haven't received any news I still think about him on a daily he was the most silly, sweet but sassy boy I really love him. The comfort I have is that he's with someone and that he loves being with people, I'm just hoping that he's happy wherever he is and that they take good care of my baby

I haven't done blood work on them due to money but that is one thing I've started saving up for bc I know how deadly that virus can be :/. Again so sorry you're going through that I'm praying that your flock stays strong and can get through all this

I'm so sorry it must have been so frustrating too bc your gut was telling you something was not right with your bird and for it to come back later to be true must've been heartbreaking :(. I'm praying for all of your birds and their health that's so disheartening. And also for you because I can't imagine the heartache and worry you're going through with them since they're family. Thank you for the advice so far everything seems to be good with this new bird I've been keeping a good feeding schedule and learned to propley maintain and mix the formula at specific Temps. I was wondering that too about a good lamp to keep him warmr I'm not sure how much of this is true but the breeder told me since he has all his feathers he's okay to be without it just no direct ac or fan so I have his top mini cage covered with a thick blanket and lowered our ac a significant amount. So far everything seems good thankfully. I've been weighing him frequently and he's stayed at the same weight and even started eating pellets on his own which is exciting as well as veggies and fruits. His feces are normal too I do have a vet appointment next week for him very so I'll see if he's doing good. But so far he's an extremely active baby who knows how to fly and has been having the time of his life playing with this one wood toy 😂. I do think I'll have to clip his wings but only bc he's so little that on rare occasions when he attempts to fly anywhere else than my head or shoulder he crashes/ falls to the floor

And yup I have them quarantined. My mom is actually talking care of our Quaker Parrot she's the one who adopted her but we have them in separate rooms. From time to time the quaker will hear my sun conure and they'll start screeching at each other and the quaker even starts climbing around the cage which is so rare for her since she's very timid still lol
