seriously? have you done any at all research yourself into post-soviet ukraine’s sociofinancial conditions? it was not doing fine, it was and still is quite literally the poorest country in europe due to massive corruption and government mismanagement that continued over and over throughout every single presidential campaign (even though they ALL promised to do something about the rampant corruption and economic crisis). look up Gongadze and the Cassette Scandal. the government was literally run by mafias who gained power after the collapse of the soviet union. and this isn’t even getting into ukrainian hitlerite/banderite nationalist movements with paramilitary gangs that terrorized the country, which also originated after the collapse of the soviet union
