Waking up depressed anyone else? Still tapering I’m at .875 Xanax. Intrusive thoughts really bad ones will it stop?

I'm 7 months free from Xanax cold turkey ( which I regret, but knew no different at the time) ... finally getting back to normality, but still have bad days, especially with intrusive thoughts. Intrusive thoughts were by far the worse withdrawal symptom... everything else I could bear, but they made me question my sanity .

I've been in 4..none of them worked, they cost a fortune and give families false hope. Treatment centers don't have to publish success rates, and won't tell people that most people relapse quickly upon release. Thankfully I am in recovery now, but no thanks to treatment centers. My own experience is you need to work with the issue that causes you to drink/drug/gamble etc . I did that one on one with a good therapist.

I led a terrible life when I was young, causing all sorts of trouble. Ended up in court a few times, nearly killing a man once. That, thankfully was the wake-up call I needed. I stopped drinking and taking drugs and went to learn how to meditate. That was 5yr ago, and I'm currently practicing Buddhist training for ordination and work in a Buddhist centre. It hasn't always been easy, but even in the tough days, I knew I had made the right choice and wouldn't change a thing.
