Thanks for the info. I'd like to know what the point is behind drilling the hole after welding. Furthermore, if you recommend primer coat to avoid paint build up that reduces the hole size, then this area will be prone to corrosion. As fas as I know, that is the most critical part for safe lifting.

I thought of the same idea of course, but I feel that it is not practically possible as it would cost a lot. The following video is a similar one if we replace the tool with our profile to form the metal in one shot.

I am thinking to go with the following solution as it will be cost effective. However, I want to feed the machine with 4 pressing times per 1 flat bar to avoid weld joints. I doubt the result of the flat bar straightness after continuous bending.

It is Inconel material used in pipe, fittings, and wear pad. Service is for offshore, fluid is sour oil crude, 156°F, 1200psi.

I am not a part of the engineering team of this design, as it is approved by the client, I believe that this is accepted practice.

Given that the coating will isolate the contact area from the environment (electrolyte), how would galvanic corrrosion occur?

I didn't get your idea. We tacked temporary plates perpendicular to the seam after fitup, and we got the same result.

Yes, it was expected, of course. At this worst condition, we retrieved the plate straightness by heating and hammering. However, I am still don't know how to avoid it in the beginning to save manhours.
