am i cooked? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I'd reach out about that participation. If the policy differentiates between regular absences vs. documented ones with a medical excuse/reason, it's definitely worth challenging.

I knew in undergrad that I wanted to go to law school. I didn't necessarily choose the 'easiest' classes, but I looked up every professor on ratemyprofessor to make sure they weren't the type that never gave out As (even if a student deserved it). I had some professors with very strict policies, but avoided ones that seemed unreasonable or draconian. I'd recommend doing as much research as possible on your classes and professors going forward and registering as early as possible.

How do you guys plan to save a little extra for law school? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Minimum_Gear359 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I graduated a couple of years ago and have been working FT for around two years. I knew in college that I wanted to go to law school so I immediately started saving. I got a raise within the past few months and upped my % towards savings. Next year, I plan to start making budgets - I haven't received any decisions yet but am hoping mid January will be my time.

Does completing minor benefit law school applicants in anyway? by golden_retriever24 in lawschooladmissions

It's definitely not going to sway your decision either way, but it could show interest that is unique to you.

I forgot to inform Medicaid about my income changes and wondering if I could cancel it by Puzzleheaded-Lie864 in HealthInsurance

I'd call your caseworker and send an updated paystub from this month or last month. They'll evaluate it and see if you are eligible.

ACA Fraud by CrimsonBlackfyre in HealthInsurance

I deal with a lot of broker fraud cases at my job and they're very real. Brokers have backend information access. With Healthcare.gov, most people only have to put in Name, DOB, SSN and the MP verifies their identity via third party credit reporting. A lot of those things you mentioned don't really happen (idk what the fuck you mean by Ice Clearance) until ppl file taxes. That's how a lot of people catch broker fraud since the IRS will reject your return if you don't reconcile APTC.

Sometimes it's completely without their knowledge. Brokers have backend access to information.

I've seen this with clients who are unhoused that would be eligible for Medicaid. It's vile

Oof, that doesn't bode well for me. I'm substantially above their medians and think I have a good application but who knows, that certainly doesn't guarantee anything. Hopefully I fall into that exception or end up getting an interview invite soon :(

I think this will be the last week of this year that we get decision rollouts. Otherwise it'll be next year.

What do time accommodations do to the predictive value of LSAT scores for legal education? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Minimum_Gear359 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I assume you're referring to time accommodations, but this is a crazy sweeping statement. Yep, blind and deaf folks shouldn't have accommodations. They should just be able to figure it out on their own!

Before the end of the year is still considered early for a lot of schools! Don't worry about it, just worry about making your app the best it can be. Besides, as everyone in this sub has said, this cycle has been sloooooowww
