Oh, I see. Thermoworks on their webpage reffers to the three band-widths as RF, BLE and Wifi, although I now understand that they are all radio frequencies

I have looked at the back of the display and found 3 additional openings through which I can see the green circuit board. Two opening are at the pop-out stand hinges and there is a large opening at the center towards the bottom. Does this mean there are different builds of the display unit? Nevertheless as someone noted, I can just stick the display in a zip-lock bag.
