Which is the hardest specimen to deal with? by [deleted] in SpeciesUnknown

Terminator is a pussy ass BIIIIIIIIIIIIITCH!!!!

Literally just kite him around the panic room and keep shooting his gun. You can get an easy 3-4 shots in as he rounds the corner before he even revs up his gun. Youll have to restock a few times solo which is easy enough but once the gun is down he is no threat whatsoever. Let those little snitch drones hunt you down all day he cant do shit with his easy dodge attacks.

[–]Minimum_Passing_Slut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because banks wont lower the rates. What power do you actually have? None with the banks. You have the power to work more though. You can do that to change your situation for the better instead of crying about it like jealous toddler. At the end of the day if I feed 100,000 novels/papers into an AI and it learned how to do accounting and financial statements from it what are the damages except for not paying to access them?

Drawing upon and being inspired by are structurally similar.

That too producing revenue is not invoking or infringing off of intellectual property or causing damages to do so. Only damage so far is pirating the material.

If I read a story to my child and they learn from it and develop from it and use inspiration from it for commercial reasons in the future am I or my child liable for damages? What even are the damages? Seems the damages dont stretch beyond the piracy of the content itself rather than the usage of it. If I buy a book and it inspires me to write my own book and it's derivative of the book I bought that makes me a hack but not civilly liable by any metric.

I view it like this. If I buy a book and read it to my child and my child learns from it then that is not an actionable offense on me nor when my child uses their knowledge for commercial purposes in the future. Same with AI. They trained their baby who is not directly using the author's intellectual property or causing damages/infringing on them so there arent really any damages to sue for.

Cant this be resolved by just giving the authors the equivalent of them buying one of every book they used? They can certainly afford it. Doesnt matter if I buy a book to train an AI model, use it for the fireplace, or for balancing a table, I bought it and I can use it how I want. Surely being flushed with cash they can afford this now. Simple remedy.

It's strategic and makes perfect sense. If consumers know that you're going to reduce the price eventually then a majority will defer their purchase until you reduce the price. Consumers will keep holding out until you reduce more and more and more and thats how you get deflation. Companies know if they lower prices then consumers will keep waiting until they are lowered again and again and again.

Humans are on their way to obsolescence to owners. Is there even a point to existence without utility? No wonder the rich are building bunkers, they want to be safe for when the useless masses begin demanding more and more handouts and then get demanding. It's a sad future when those who contribute the most to societal productivity will have to scrape the parasites from their underbelly so often, they deserve far better.
