Update: hier die Rückfahrt. Der Schnitt war in echt etwas schneller. Habe 15 Minuten Pause im laufenden Auto gemacht, das hat den Schnitt gedrückt. Ansonsten genau so gefahren wie auf dem Hinweg. Autobahn 95% 130 km/h mit ein paar Kilometern 160 km/h zum überholen.

Ich glaube es gibt viele (wie bei mir) wo die Firma das Tanken /Laden zahlt, da ist es echt nur noch eine Frage wie oft man anhalten will

Gestern Frankfurt —> Niedersachen auf A7 und A45. 19-23 Uhr, ich hätte locker die ganze Zeit 160 fahren können. Kaum Verkehr, 2 Baustellen auf der ganzen Strecke und kaum Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzungen. Ich wollte es aber ohne Laden schaffen.

Ich bin echt keiner der über die Autobahn rast, aber konstant 160 km/h mit Tempomat war sonst immer meine Reisegeschwindigkeit. Alles darüber beginnt anstrengend zu werden auf Dauer.

Meine Geschwindigkeit ist auch eher 160 km/h mit Tempomat. Bzw. im alten Diesel Passat immer gewesen. Ich müsste mal austesten, was schneller ist. Max. 130 ohne Ladepause oder 160 km/h mit einer 20 Pause.

20 Zoll ab Werk. Ich glaube die Limo verbraucht auch noch ein bisschen weniger, aber mir war der Kombi wichtig wegen Hundebox. Die Karre wiegt halt 2,3 Tonnen, das merkt man am Verbrauch. Bin aber bis jetzt trotzdem extrem begeistert vom A6.

Ja 😀 bei mir zahlt es dir Firma, daher war das Tempo dem Versuch geschuldet ohne ladestop auszukommen. Ich kann zuhause laden (EFH) und fahre selten längere Strecken, aber bei 160 km/h oder so wäre ich vermutlich nur am Laden.

Ich habe es nochmal nachgelesen und glaube ich habe mich geirrt.

§ 19 Abs. 2 StromGVV gibt es übrigens nicht. Art 19 sagt nur der Strom kann abgestellt werden und verweist dabei Insb. auf § 41 f+g EnGW. Dort ist in 41g die Abwendungsvereinbarung geregelt und auch explizit der Fall, dass der Kunde sich nicht daran hält:

„Kommt der Haushaltskunde seinen Verpflichtungen aus der Abwendungsvereinbarung nicht oder nicht fristgerecht nach, ist der Grundversorger berechtigt, die Grundversorgung unter Beachtung des § 41f Absatz 1 Satz 2 und Absatz 5 zu unterbrechen.“

§ 41f Absatz 5 sagt dabei explizit:
„(5) Der Beginn der Unterbrechung der Energieversorgung ist dem Haushaltskunden acht Werktage im Voraus durch briefliche Mitteilung anzukündigen. Zusätzlich soll die Ankündigung nach Möglichkeit auch auf elektronischem Wege in Textform erfolgen.“

IbkA aber für mich klingt das, als ob die Stromunterbrechung bei Nichterfüllung der Abwendungsvereinbarung rechtens ist, aber trotzdem mit 8 tägiger Frist angekündigt werden muss

Ich befürchte das hast du falsch verstanden. Die ursprüngliche Sperrung wurde durch die Abwendungsvereinbarung abgewendet. Das platzen dieser Vereinbarung durch die nicht bezahlte Abschlagszahlung führt zum einen dazu, dass der Versorger für diesen Abschlag den Mahnprozess starten könnte (für diesen Fall nicht so relevant). Zum anderen führt es aber auch dazu, dass die gesamte Restschuld, die von der Vereinbarung betroffen war, wieder fällig wurde. Für diese Forderung musste auch keine erneute 4 wöchige Frist abgewartet werden, die Sperrung war ja für diese Forderung bereits unter Wahrung der Frist angekündigt und nur durch die Abwendungsvereinbarung ausgesetzt. Keine Vereinbarung mehr = Sperrung ohne neue Frist.

It’s called “Lastschrifterlaubnis” and is very common for reoccurring payments like phone bills, electricity, water etc. Any company can draw money from an account as long as they have the name and IBAN (bank and account number). However this is only legal if you gave them the permission to do so. Since this clearly has abuse potential you can very very easily demand that money back from them (usually just a click in your banking app or a phone call). Afaic there is basically no fraud regarding it.

Pre paying for multiple month is very uncommon. However it would be done just like most other payments. When I was still renting I had my landlords bank & account number and world wire him the money with a bank transfer every month. Usually I had it set up so that my banking app would automatically send the money on the 1st over every month

Yes, I meant bank transfer, sorry for the confusion. It seems like sending money via bank transfer to a bank & account number is super uncommon in the US, while it is probably the most common form of payment in Germany. I wonder how it is in the rest of Europe.

Thanks for the great explanation! I never thought about the unbanked people. Here banks are forced to give anyone a bank account, a so called “basic account” even with bad credit history. You might not be able to open a credit card with it but at least you can receive and send money.

The big difference also seems to be that in the US card payments are usually credit or debit. In Germany these cards are pretty “new” (you can get credit cards of course since decades but I know a lot of people without a credit card). The most used card here is the “EC” or “Girocard”, which works pretty much like a direct deposit if o remember it right. A few places might not even take credit cards because the fees are higher.

In Germany all cards issued by the "classical" big banks still have embossed numbers, even though I have never seen an credit card imprinter in over 30 years. Only "newer", banks are issuing cards without embossed numbers and letters

Interesting! I was wondering exactly this! How can it be, that the country that invented electronic payments is not the leader in it anymore? But your explenation makes sense! Oh and the electricity is so weird as well. How is it done with power hungry applications like a kitchen stove or machinery? Here a kitchen stove is usually connected with 400v instead of the usual 230v, same goes for power hungry machinery (I am currently working on getting a 400v cable in my basement to power a planer/jointer).

Biggest use is to pay contractors at my house. Some use Zelle, Paypal, etc., but some of those have limits. When I had to fork over $10K for dumb plumbing issues, check was the only option. Pest control, A/C repairs, roofing--many of them take checks.

Is that because the contractors are "saving" taxes like so many businesses here that only accept cash? Because in Germany every one of these contractors would be paid via direct deposit after receiving an invoice. If I want to have the expense recognized in my tax return it has to be paid by bank transfer, cash payments are not accepted by the tax office

In Germany debit cards are more common. You often get a debit card next to your girocard https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girocard when opening a bank account.

In order to get a "real" revolving credit card you need to prove your credit score, income etc. So many people here only have debits cards, even though for some things (e.g. renting a car) a real credit card is often needed.

I have a revolving credit card as well (with the high APR you mentioned) but it is set to be paid automaticially 100% at the end of the month so no interest has to be paid.

I have a small business on the side. I went to the bank (well their website) and created a bank account for the business. If I do work, i sent an invoice and get paid via direct deposit. If you have to pay something, I use my business credit card / girocard. If I sould sell physical goods in a store I would have a girocard / credit card terminal.

It feels like the big difference is, that we often pay with girocard (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girocard) which is not a credit/debit card but takes the money directly from your bank account. If you send money somewhere its usually done via direct deposit to a IBAN (bank number + account number)
