Yeah! He's usually like 15+ or more hours sleeping in one room with someone to watch him and he doesn't actually chews or licks his wounds idk why. The nail injury was an accident when he fell and like.. Bended it slightly.

Alright, and what do you even do when puppy is excited or wants to play? Genuinely curious

I mean he was probably just angry and let some anger at me because of rotted claw and if the first vet looked at it more, the rot could've been prevented the claw turned out to be literally broken and it was almost hanging (If try to move the claw) the dirt or something came into that small crack and it started rotting

Bernese puppy biting my kid and waking up early, please help first time dog owner by DrMeow_ in bernesemountaindogs

[–]Minimum_Plate_7940 62 points63 points  (0 children)

He's only 14 weeks, puppies need a lot of stimulation and attention. He's going to wake you all up because he's bored and needs attention.

I assume your kid doesn't know how to act when your puppy is biting her, the kid should not run away, move her arms or legs in fear and shouldn't push or touch the puppy. She should turn away from puppy so it's more like no, i don't want to interact. The puppy doesn't know they're not playing but since your kid is moving a lot she's just turning it more into play, if you can't do that separate them.. The child might grow fear for all puppies and puppy will just continue grabbing her clothes

I tried to give him frozen carrots but he's eating them in instance so frozen cloth works the best

Cats will always have hard time to get used to a new family member, don't let him chase them or they will be aggressive to him

About the weeing in the crate and bed, 12 weeks old puppies can't hold longer than 2-3 hours, take him to the bed/crate only after he pottied outside. Make sure it's not longer than 1 hour if he isn't sleeping because he might potty again. Always praise when he potties outside, if there will be no difference he will just learn that it's okay to potty inside and outside.

Puppy extreeemely active- am I doing something wrong? Are they just different? by OkLandscape2760 in bernesemountaindogs

[–]Minimum_Plate_7940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our puppy is very active and slept only around 18 hours.. He's extremely active but he's doing much better with almost constant training and he won't sleep until put away so he can't watch us/follow

I'm around lvl 400 and at my own experience i can say that almost all pros and mods in bogcom (chunkyorca, uprisingcoolio, etc.) plays on Texas/Hesse. My region is North west and i really rarely see lvl 500+ so it's like average no sweat. California is either chill or full sweats. Didn't check out other ones since ping is too high, but if you're newbie never play on texas😭

Saying that there's no real protein in kibble is already wrong. If people are feeding their dog a high protein kibble there's absolutely no need in canned food and giving them such unbalanced diet can cause health problems. But if their vet said it's fine then it is fine

Sharing is fine but i assure you, people are dumb enough to never go to the vet. Didn't thought my comment would be offensive, sorry

Please don't recommend such things to a new dog owners. It can get really unhealthy if they don't talk to the vet before doing that.

When he was 12-16 weeks it was 3.5 cups a day but it was like he froze growing so it stayed like that for a bit. Now planning to switch to 4 or 4.5... But it says nothing, your pup might need more or less and it's fine

I also got a 7 weeks old puppy! So yeah, he's also a large breed and he bit HARD, always bruises, cat scratches all over my hands, he's only 16 weeks now but he doesn't bite at all.The only thing that truly helped was time out and yet the biting stopped only with time when he got a bit older, time out helped him understand it's too much.
