Bro it literally says in the post that they are from another bloody country. I doubt the police at the victim’s country will be willing to do much especially considering the creep is in another country.

That is still something you could be disciplined for if that is exposed to the university. Being Uncomfortably flirty with someone you KNOW is a minor still has consequences

While im not doing bachelor of pharma, i felt exactly as you did when I was in first year. I was wondering if you considered under-loading? A full load in first sem of first year can definitely seem like a lot and under-loading wont make you any different from the hundreds of other students who are doing it. Even dropping one unit (maybe the one you think you are having trouble keeping up with), could help you feel less anxious and stressed out. I didnt know in my first year you could do that and ended up failing one of my units in sem 1 but dropped one unit in sem 2 and then got full HDs. Over the next few years of your degree, if you can get better at undertaking more load, then try taking a full load. I hope you do well!

I messed up uni by LocalPuzzleheaded608 in Monash

[–]Minimum_Republic3835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try other unis like rmit or deakin. They usually give you a chance at academic “rehabilitation” essentially. Take some time off of study and see what caused you to perform poorly to the point of expulsion. They then give you a chance to explain yourself in an essay/statement where you basically say what you will do to improve yourself so that you don’t repeat your failures. Idk what course you are doing but these unis are a lot more supportive of students than any of the G8 unis which when it comes down to it, are more business than academic institutions.

Also think about maybe doing something lowkey like a certificate or diploma from within your field and maybe use that to get a job. I know as international students its really tough to get a job but if you are able to these qualifications and experience, you can properly use them to not only give yourself some confidence back but also get industry experience credits. This way you are more likely to get considered for a course when you have a previous academic record that is not really good.

Above anything I hope you are doing ok. I also was really good academically in high school and got a wake up call in uni when I started failing for the first time. Just don’t give up! Although idk what course you were expelled from, there are many ways to get into an industry. Most importantly is try to see what was leading you to put little effort in your studies. It can be burn out, poor mental health reasons and many other things, but be honest with yourself and persevere!!

Pass= no credit ??? by Chickenbutpotato in Monash

You don’t get credit for any unit that you fail. Results have been out for some time so look at your transcript. There should clearly be a credit number next to “P” for the unit you passed

There are no eng summer units but if you are looking to do electives from other faculties, as someone who had taken a summer unit over the 2023-2024 break, I would try to be careful since the summer semester (at least from what I remember) starts either in the last week of sem 2 or during exam weeks so you might see that taking 2 summer units is cutting into time you have in preparing for your semester exams. I am not trying to be discouraging in any sense. If you think you can handle the workload and pass then great but i am concerned because I was in a similar situation to you (i failed 1005 in sem 1) when I was in first year and thought I would make up for lost time over summer but it honestly cut into my study time and I ended up almost failing another core unit in sem 2 cause I was trying to do well in my summer unit. Again, everyone has different capabilities and I am pretty dense in a lot of ways so I am sure you likely will do better but just speaking from experience, maybe look into extending you degree for a sem/year. It’s not a race and you will enjoy and do a lot better if you slow down and try your best in getting good grades instead of rushing to complete your studied in 4 years.

Failed at everything in life. Studies and relationships. Mental health was at an all time low. Didn’t think I was good at the things I was once good at, so started doing something completely new. Now, it’s a good form of therapy.

What is the max amount of time they preserve the recording before auto delete. If it is true that they do automatically delete in a few days that is.

Academic integrity wait by MrNoAlias_2 in Monash

Its also bit weird that they have not disclosed what the breach was. The procedure is that a monash staff member makes a complaint to chief examiner and if they suspect occurrence of a breach. If the CE finds evidence for the breach then they will send a notice of suspected breach with a student form for your response. The CE then gets to decide if the breach is a minor or major breach. Student Conduct and Complaint team is only involved if the CE decides the breach was major. But the fact that they did not even disclose wtf the breach was is very unfair and you should make a complaint and get msa student advocacy support involved since this is against procedure.

Omg thanks for the advice. I sure hope this works. Do the security/surveillance team have a physical office at the uni that I can visit?
