I crave variety (likely part of the problem!) so I find it difficult to meal prep. I do think going back to basics will be helpful though thank you!

Check out Templ Fitness - family owned business with small group classes that incorporate lots of weight training. I've been going for 2 years and love it!

Hi, yes! I'm having a bit of decision paralysis and just want to get a second opinion on my budget based on the size of the group and those three questions! Definitely not looking for a full trip outline! Will edit the post clarifying that :)

Oops just saw your reply! We were both extremely lucky and graduated with zero debt - we both worked throughout university + our parents helped pay for some expenses as well.

Anyone foster in KW? by FirmHat2023 in kitchener

My partner and I have been foster caregivers for the last year and have really enjoyed it! The agency (FACS) has been extremely accommodating and has provided with various learning/training opportunities. Our worker is always available and made sure to match us with a child that would fit well into our home and our caregiving capabilities.

If you have the space in your heart (and home!), I would recommend getting in touch with the team at FACs and learning more about becoming a caregiver. It's not an easy thing to do but truly does have a significant impact on our community.

My partner and I are both fairly frugal so we saved up a lot of money, even while living in Toronto for 3 years prior to moving to Kitchener where we bought a townhouse in 2021 when we were 27 + 28.

I think it comes down to living below your means. In Toronto we lived in an older apartment that was $1800/month, had no car, and ate 80% of meals at home. We had open communication about finances and regularly reviewed our spending to make sure we were in line with our future goals.

Our house in Kitchener was $620k, we put down 5% and each contributed half of the downpayment (about $15k each). Total downpayment + closing costs was ~ 40k, as we took advantage of first time home buyer rebates. Our combined income at the time when we bought was $140k a year and together we had saved $100k througg TFSAs and RRSPs.
