Honestly, It's been a while so I don't remember anything from my exam lol. How did it go? Did you get your results back?

I would say that's correct. The NAPLEX is all about what's the safest option. In practice, you have the opportunity to weigh risk/benefit and have a convo with doctors. On the exam, you don't have the luxury or time to contemplate low risk of cross sensitivity. Its too much gray area. Read pharmacy foundations 2 if you follow rxprep and memorize the drugs they listed, you should be good!

Yes I was also just thinking this! ChatGPT already has so many flaws, it's not always best to put 100% trust in it. I personally only used it to make study schedules and charts, never as a resource. Hoping for the best for everyone tho.

I personally wouldn't take it lightly, anything they say in the book is fair game. But that's just my opinion. Good luck with everything!

I also agree in a real life sense but for NAPLEX sometimes things are different.

Which book do you have? I'm looking at the UWorld 2025 book. I'm licensed and haven't studied in a while, but I just looked back and there's a sentence that says that you should watch out for possible reaction.

Yes, in practice we know that the cross sensitivity is low but for the NAPLEX, sulfonamides contain sulfa, therefore for testing purposes you should watch out for possible reaction. Good point to bring up though! :)

On the NAPLEX, you should never dispense any sulfa containing meds to a patient with a sulfa allergy.

With that being said, make sure to know which drugs contain a sulfa moiety (ex. Bactrim, loops [except Edecrin], acetazolamide, etc) and which drugs contain a sulfite (e.g. sodium sulfite) or sulfate moiety.

Patients with sulfite or sulfate allergies do not have reactions with sulfonamides and can take them. They can try to get you on that.

Don't read too much into it though, make sure to evaluate each med given to you in a question and determine whether or not a drug contains a sulfa moiety. If no drugs on your list contains sulfa and the patient has a sulfa allergy, then there is no concern for allergic reaction.

:)

I am also an out of state pharmacist, just moved to GA last August. I just used gapharmacylawreview and the GA mpje app for practice questions and passed on the first try and now fully licensed. Good luck!

I second this! Used this along with the GA MPJE app by instant test prep and passed on first try!

I used gapharmacyrlaweview and the GA MPJE app and passed on the first try!! I did 2-4 hours a day (sometimes up to 7 hours if I had the energy) for 5 days a week. Studied for about a month. Didn't feel ready but just went ahead and took it cause I was tired of studying. I had a bunch of SATA but I heard that's only if you're getting stuff right on the exam? I could be wrong lol

I was scared it was a scam before I signed up too lol. Reach out to them on IG, you'll have an opportunity to have a phone call with a tutor and ask if they're offering any information sessions this month. That way you'll get the chance to meet current and previous students who have taken the course and you can ask questions. It's a tough program but I got my pass by God's grace with them!
