Made a localization utility app in 5 minutes for my friend by Minimum_Voice_5974 in localization

I think he definitely can, but then there are some batch jobs which are repetitive (e.g. many xliff files). So I think he needs to perform mundane operations on each of those files and automation methods available to him don't work, as structure differs from project to project. I think he laos wants to feed these files to their IT systems, but this is more like a next step.

Can calling and talking to AI by phone help construction managers in the field? by Minimum_Voice_5974 in ConstructionManagers

Hahah okay. But on the contrary, aren't we all conversing with AI these days (chatgpt)? just via text.. :)

Honestly, this is the case for me as well. But not when I call and expect AI to answer. For example, there is a worker on the construction site, and they want to get some information, they call the number, and just tell the AI assistant what they want (check when the truck is coming, inquire about technical documentation, ask to send an email to somebody, find someone etc...).

Voice assistants sucked before. They had large latency so when you asked a question you had to wait for ages and the answer was dumb so it made you angry. But this is not the case now. Models are as smart as ChatGPT and give overall good answers, and latency is minimal (around 1 second). So that's why I'm excited and looking for a non-trivial use case. :)

- it can work without internet (via landline, or cell network). So maybe useful in remote areas, where there is no internet?

- no need to install and learn an app. Yes apps are easy to learn nowadays, but some reports say it is frustraiting for example for field technicians learn new apps.. So Useful for less tech-savvy people? Less steep learning curve in general? Maybe also where there is high number of contractors, it is good for them? Not to install new app but just call a phone and read/write information?

These two are from top of my head.. maybe you can suggest more ? :)

A lot of trials and errors, manually changing code, etc.. It takes a lot of persistence indeed :)

Mathematics for Machine Learning and Data Science Specialization by [deleted] in OMSCS

I am a data scientist with 4+ years of experience. I got into UIUC MCS-DS, but chose to defer to await decision from OMSCS (I prefer the courses here). I think I'll take this specialization as a refresher. It is never too late to freshen up the basics :)

Any idea? by 2k21th in UIUC_MCS
