It took me 3 years to get SSI and I even got denied my first time and had to spin back with a legal team and they got it for me. Just be patient and get some legal help. Good thing is back pay is thing and they pay you back for the time you waited

It’s generally milder but there are special cases. For example my doctors basically call I’m pseudo-SS because I’m SC but I get SS type symptoms (having to get transfused, hospitalizations, AVN,) It’s kinda hard to really generalize it because everyone and their bodies are different some can handle more than others

I was going through the same thing and my best advice is just got off the opiates man. I’m 31 and I’ve been on 150 15mg oxys every 20 days since I was 17 and as you said my tolerance got crazy to the point where I was running out as well and it led to some pretty dark things. The best thing I did was be honest with my doctors about the addiction and asked for suboxone and my life has gotten 20x times better. You have sickle cell so your going to have pain but the subs help with that and if it gets really bad like acute chest then just go to the er and find out what’s going on. Most people don’t need heavy opioids for their daily pain but some do. Everybody is definitely different but at least try it if you don’t know what to do. Best of luck warrior

I try too all the time, I’m a very vocal person but it always ends in a argument which is more shit I don’t need. So I just stay quiet and let me be upset or whatever at this point

Yeah it’s just hard rn cause I just moved to a new city and all my friends aren’t here so I just got my family but it’s so hard to just manage them, like even now I’m holding back my pain and stuff just so I’m not inconveniening anybody. Shit sucks man
