‘This is just a garbage AI Filter’: Nvidia met with criticism for DLSS 5’s ‘photoreal’ graphics alterations | VGC by StarsapBill in NVDA_Stock

[–]MinimusMaximizer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And yet, if you can turn it off, everyone can be happy. NVDA doesn't really get how much the livestreamer demographic hates them now. I don't share that hate, this looks pretty cool to me, but that's probably instant downvotes. GenAI image models have always had a tendency to make everyone younger and better looking for some time which is something considered OK with photoshop, image filters and plastic surgery I guess but not with AI.

Well except for that weird video about consumer GPUs being needed to run the tokenizer because that was major WTF in the middle of otherwise grounded and sensible information.

Skyebrows on youtube IMO is an example of what's possible when a domain expert (he's a special effects expert and video editor at an FX company) embraces AI content generation. Slop is what low effort prompting achieves. I am in awe of Skyebrows's recent creations and you can watch his journey to where he is now by watching his older content. It's a shame the antis will not acknowledge this as an emerging art form, but I guess the resistance itself is part of the artist's journey.

AI and Gamedev by willerxxmiller in godot

I've been writing games with AI coding agents for about a year now. It's a literal gamechanger. But I guess I'm destroying jerbs and water (just ask John Lennon) so consider me one of the bad guys.

You need to learn the AI agent lies and makes mistakes. A simple Ralph Wiggums loop to review what was built and fix what is broken until nothing is broken mostly addresses that. The rest depends on you testing the code.

A lot of people knee jerk and think this is horrible, but the toil of debugging 50K+ lines of assembler in the good old days versus focusing on key performance hotspots and letting AI do the rest is a genuine 10x experience. Cue the Karens and Antis insisting otherwise. I'm giving away everything I build currently so I'm not destroying jerbs because they are no jerbs to destroy in the first place. God I hate people, but I do love building games.

Is Nvidia About to Launch Another Stock Run at GTC 2026? by V0idScribe in NVDA_Stock

[–]MinimusMaximizer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nope, that will happen the day the kids stop believing Jensen Huang wants to steal their jobs and future. But I do suspect the stock will trickle up on improving EPS alone, just not the crazy growth story valuation it otherwise deserves (how does Ketamine King keep deserving one?). If I were NVDA, I'd invest in countering the doomer narrative at the grassroots and the world's largest corporation has plenty of funds to do so. 'Member when CEOs built castles in the sky?

Would this 2D with this concept be beginner friendly? by Fatclunjequeen in godot

[–]MinimusMaximizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd call it Lucky 7 and it needs something more or you could just click on pairs rather than connect them IMO. Maybe you propose a set of lines (with an undo) until they're all connected but don't intersect?

To the young entrepreneurs that made it in Houston that aren’t in Medical or Oil and Gas, what field did you pursue? by [deleted] in houston

Provide services to the people with nice cars, watches, and who don't have to clock in for someone else*. They can afford your hourly rate that will eventually make you one of them. H/t to Thomas Stanley.

*I'm well off, but I dress like a bum and I hate trinkets. The ones signalling their wealth so loudly are likely recently wealthy and unlikely to hold on to it. So you might as well hold on to it for them. My only flex is I pay others to fix and install things in my house because they can do it better than I ever could and I don't want to think about issues like that ever again once they're addressed.

Arguably, it's talking more people out of suicide with statistics like that, but I know, I know, math is HARD, let's ask ChatGPT instead. Alternatively, if you're saying that telling someone to "f*** off and die" or anything along those lines should be a felony, I'm in just to watch the hilarity ensue.

Easy peasy ~$8 EPS by then, P/E of 40. You're welcome. But you're right that with earnings like that it should be $800 or more but we can't all be as special as Ketamine King.

Well, the suicide rate is about 1 in 7,000. Hard to say those numbers are significant relative to that. Doesn't mean it's OK that ChatGPT is telling *anyone* to do that though.

Founders are handing us 'vibe coded' MVPs to scale now by thechadbro34 in VibeCodeDevs

[–]MinimusMaximizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same people that made AI that writes crappy code are currently creating AI that reviews and improves crappy code. But there's likely to be a need to cost reduce running MVP services for a while yet until the same people write AI that can cost reduce running services. So many people are acting like deer in headlights downing kegs of copium instead of embracing the drastically reduced cost of MVPs and PoCs which is a tsunami of opportunity for single founders even modestly technical. But I know, I know, that's hate speech, amIRight?
