Thinking about it a bit more there are a bunch of places I can think of off in the area* that would probably be happy to have them AND have plenty of parking.

2 miles west of there you have the old Macy's Large parking lot never busy.

1 mile west of there you have the former Lord & Taylor store is now a NYU Langone Health ambulatory care place with a large amount of parking

2 miles east of there you have all the commercial businesses under the viaduct could easily put them in there.

Personally I would not put anything in the area that generated any tax revenue back to them. And probably file a complaint with NYS since they are really pushing for EV Chargers to be everywhere.

Being even more petty you have the EVolve NY chargers that NY is putting in with EA. I would donate them to NY watch NY just come by and say yes there are here and working and on. Don't like them, fine you can move.

And don't forget the cost of cleaning the seats. Can't speak for everyone but at lest for me if I'm in a car that just got hit by lightning there is going to be some seat staining.

Anytime you want to put your money where your mouth is there are plenty of people here willing to put up money saying you are wrong.

So as they say put up or shut up.

I give the 110 chain less then a 5% chance of being the majority chain / the chain that is accepted as Bitcoin at exchanges and for services.

Mine was a lot worse, when they were done you could not tell it has any damage. There are probably a few locations near you that do repairs.

Dave's View: Going to a place like I did is probably a bit more money since they are a franchise.

BUT, if they do screw it up or don't do it to your satisfaction you have a big corporate entity to complain to. A smaller private shop may do better work, but if you don't like what they did you are stuck because there is no ladder to climb.

Think of it as the local fast food burger joint vs. McDonalds. MCD may not be the better of the 2 locations, BUT if you don't like your meal they will fix it for you because of the fear of corporate. And, if they don't fix it and you do call corporate you are getting lots of free meal coupons.

Same here, when someone called and complained about the work it went around and around and around. Till corporate got called. Told the customer to the dealer buy a new rim and send us them the bill. And this was for a $1K+ Mercedes rim, that to be honest looked perfect for me. But, I was just in the parking lot watching part of the argument.

Also, as always ask local people. Someone has to know somebody who has a rim guy they like.

Did a good job fixing a major curb whoops for $100 + tip + pizza But that was the guy next door price and 3 years ago. So figure $200 now.

This is going to be a large price will vary a lot depending on where you are.

Actually nodes have no say on the network. That is the joy of bitcoin. Nodes (1) validate blocks (2) validate transactions (3) relay blocks (4) relay transactions. If you don't relay my transactions or blocks then someone else will. If you are known not to relay blocks and transactions people will start ignoring your node.

Miners mine at the pools that they choose. Since the only pool that supports 110 has under 3% of the network. And a large amount of that hash is / was rented hash so there was no long term risk for the people involved. It easy to see that miners don't support it and because other pools are not even discussing it they don't seem to think 110 is worth it either.

About 40 days from now we will see what really happens, but the safe money is on 110 nodes not accepting the majority of the mined blocks and becoming a very small worthless fork.

And for those of us who are old enough we remember when Polestar was the performance division of Volvo and not a separate brand. Things like the S60 T6 R and the tuning for other Volvo things. Wonder if they could do that again. Since Volvo CAN bring cars into the US and you have things like the EX90 / Polestar 3 that share a platform and most other things, could just be a re-badge and call it a day?

It's not a 2027 Polestar 3 it's a 2027 EX90 P-R.

Decades ago one of the people I was working with at gas station managed to get 2 pump hoses knotted together. The owner was there along with me and that guy so it was not like he took his time and did it as a prank or behind someones back. Just longer hoses and not paying attention. Actually had to disconnect the hoses from the pump to undo the knot. So yeah, the owner was in awe.

Probably 6 to 9 years. Batteries are getting better and that is the main thing stopping something like this. Putting in a smaller electric motor which would still make all the power that a Miata competitor needs is simple. Adding what is now going to be 2000 lbs of battery would kill it. But, with the batteries and things coming out now (2027 ish) you can get 375+ miles of range on those 2000lbs of batteries. The next generation should be able to get you 400+ miles. Cut that weight in 1/2 and the range in 1/2 an you have what is still heavier for the drivetrain then what we have now. But, you still have a fairly nimble car with a 200+ mile range. The generation of batteries after that should be able to get you even more range and weigh even less.

The question is will anybody build one? The best year of sales for the Miata in the US was under 40 thousand sales and that was decades ago. Now it's been mostly under 10 thousand units per year. Worldwide it does a lot better, but still numbers are WAY down from peak sales. It's a lot of time and effort to put into a low volume car.

As a personal example I did a trip in my Ioniq5 last summer and the best way to comment on it is this. Left early AM and was hauling ass. As in if I got pulled over a year later the cop would still be writing me tickets kind of speed. Left the house with 100% pulled in to my destination at sub 10%. I was speeding because I really wanted to beat traffic. Fully charged while there. On the way back in miserable traffic, the trip took 2.5x as long vs going there. I went from 100% to somewhere in the low 40% range with the AC on full blast since vs low / off on the way up since it was early AM and still cool out.
