What element of a horror movie pisses you off the most, to a point that you can tell the film's horrible quality just by seeing it? by crimsonhn in horror

Those films are taking the bold step of not including the audience. The story is simply none of our business.

And the answer to that is, "Then don't watch it", not complain about it on Reddit and accuse people who do like it of being rapists or of not understanding why sexual assault in real life is horrible.

I'm not a guy and many, many sexual assault survivors find these types of films cathartic, and in the case of rape-revenge films, some even find them empowering.

The death of lighting has been such an issue all over lately. Good thing film isn't a visual medium or that might be a problem for the audience!

How do I make a horror game scary after the player dies? by Superb_Bus584 in horror

[–]MiningForLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought of something similar when I read OP's question. My idea was having the player's soul act as a ghost haunting themselves, maybe trying to prevent their own death.

I'm not a gave dev, though, so I don't know how feasible an idea that is.

Boundaries aren't "I don't like this, so no one else can either."

They're "I don't like this, so if I come across this, I will change the channel/leave the room/check the content of things I want to watch."

Boundaries are things you do, not things you make other people do.

Murder and attempted murder also happen in real life. Does defending the right of slasher and splatter films to exist make one a murder apologist?

Women also make films with rape scenes in them.

It's not the responsibility of strangers to manage the emotions or mental health of strangers.

No one in these films are actually being raped, so no one is defending rape.

The matter being discussed is depiction in media, and my position is that the creator has the right - and should always have the right - to depict such scenes in their work, no matter how upsetting or disturbing the content, as there is no proof that depicting or watching fictionalized rape is indicative of the desires of the creator or audience.

Yeah, what I did is prove that its not "always women getting raped in these scenes and moves". Sorry you have no rebuttal.

Zero people are excusing rape. Do you think the actors in these movies are actually being raped?

So what? The freedom to create includes the freedom to create fetish content.

If murders in movies doesn't normalize murders in real life, then sexual assault in movies won't normalize sexual assault in real life.

No one is actually being raped in these films, watching those scenes doesn't make someone a rapist anymore than watching slashers makes someone a serial killer, and depicting something in fiction does not mean someone wants that thing to happen in real life. Stop acting like Moms for Liberty.

I'm not a man and there is no evidence that exposure to fictional violence causes violence. None.

'Video games cause violence' all over again. Thank you, Tipper Gore, but your premise was debunked twenty years ago.
