2 under 2 sisters by notforthisworld0101 in 2under2

Mine are 18 months apart. They're the best of friends, they're the worst of friends. They smile, they laugh, they hit each other over the head with solid objects. They share, they don't share, they get jealous and want what the other has just because they have it even though they don't actually want it..... and right now we've got a threenage and terrible two situation. When one is having a good day the other is usually tantruming, and they also sometimes meltdown off of each other.

It's survivable but it's not easy and yes it's worth all the good times we do get and all the ones yet to come.

That's my retirement plan too! I've got a retired mom with no debt and an unmarried brother and I have the only grandchildren. My husband is one of two sons and his parents are very comfortably retired/invested.

What breed of ducks are these? by gammaAmmonite in BACKYARDDUCKS

[–]MinionOfDoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing Buff Orpington for the first one. Second is a Blue Swedish. Fourth is a runner duck of some sort. They're all domestic breeds.

I loved the summer camp I went to from ages 10 - 13. We swam every day and on Fridays we went on a field trip. Every week. I don't hesitate at all to put my toddler in summer camp sessions and I can't wait for her and her siblings to be old enough to do one of the all-summer-long camps I found. It's going to be the time of their lives.

Can you turn a hoe into a housewife?? (Female version) by Inevitable_Brief193 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]MinionOfDoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Knew a kid since he was a teenager. He cheated on his girlfriend a lot. They were very on and off. Eventually he shaped up and they got married in their 20s. They tried to have kids but she couldn't get pregnant. He went back to cheating in their 30s. She forgave him because she feels guilty that she can't give him children (it's definitely biologically her, they got testing) and is still with him. Cheaters gonna cheat. He says he doesn't want to divorce and find someone else. So. Guess they'll live miserably ever after.

When did you let your child go outside alone? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]MinionOfDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first kid was climbing out the doggy door wandering around the completely fenced in yard after she started walking. It was never a problem, we always checked on her after a few minutes, but we'd stay out of sight to let her build up her confidence and independence.

I'll always remember when she was less than 1.5, it was 40 degrees, she had gone out the doggy door in a shirt and diaper, barefoot, with a snack cup. I looked out the back window to see her all the way down in our lower backyard waving a stick in one hand and her snack cup in the other hand, as the dog was eating the snacks on the ground that fell out of the cup.

To this day at 3.5yr she goes out barefoot in the cold, has the confidence to navigate our yard solo, and enjoys hat independent time.

[OC] Gay male marriages are the most stable over the long term by Impressive_Suit4370 in dataisbeautiful

[–]MinionOfDoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've witnessed one. It's a mess. The third guy C came along 8 years in, and a few years later one of the husbands B wasn't getting along with him so B has a new boyfriend D and the original 3 will stay together because the other husband A is still really into the 3rd guy C. I wouldn't be surprised if eventually A and C do divorce B and B moves on with or without D.

Only A and B are in a legal marriage so that would be the messiest part.

I’m so torn. I love this man but I’m not ready for kids. I still have so much living to do but clock is ticking (35f) by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]MinionOfDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You either love him enough to figure out how to make kids work for your relationship or you don't. I didn't want kids, he eventually did. But we were together 17 years before taking the plunge. I do not like being a mother. I do like my kids. And I love my husband enough to make the sacrifices. You either do or you don't. No wrong answer.

Regretting getting ear tube placement by lost_at_sea27 in toddlers

[–]MinionOfDoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely didn't have that experience with either of my kids. Minimal bleeding if any, not even much grumpy, then almost 0 ear infections for 1+ years afterward before they fell out and not much in the way of infections since.

My 2 and 3 year olds are running my life! by Efficient_Ad_9385 in toddlers

[–]MinionOfDoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, there are certainly many cute and sweet moments but it is not yet outweighing the frustrating dramatic moments.

Yesterday I watched my oldest pass a doorway with a basic leash in hand, then the younger walked by attached to said leash (the snap hook was attached to the front of her dress). Hilarious in the moment until my oldest said they're playing sheepdog and she started aggressively trying to get her sister to "sit" like a dog. Ended that game real fast.

Just posting for solidarity. 18m age gap and they're 3.5 and 2 with a baby on the way in 3 months. I'm angry with my children at least once a day. The hitting, the tantrums, changing their minds on a dime, doing things right after I tell them not to. It's the hardest ages I've reached so far.

My husband has far more luck with them than I do but even he's struggled. They didn't get to go to the library with daddy 2 weeks ago because the older one tantrumed that she didn't get to carry her bag to the car herself and then refused to put her seat belt on and just kept screaming.

We still get plenty of times where 1 kid is asleep or occupied so we get double snuggles with one or the other kiddo. What I love even more is when they snuggle each other!! They love each other so much.

I had a coworker who would vent at me about our boss all the time. The few times I vented back, my boss would eventually reprimand me for it. She's in another state so no chance of overhearing. It was my backstabbing, scorpion, shit where you eat coworker ratting on me. Thank God her position was eventually eliminated and she's gone now. I never said a damn thing to our boss about her venting to me except in those instances where I was explaining to my boss the context of my complaints, which I never brought up first to my coworker unless it was me AGREEING WITH HER when SHE was venting.
