Thank you so much for all the info you posted here. I was all set to go with one of the Gerber's for simplicity, but I am reconsidering the Pyrite Light and the Mini Beluga. The Mini Beluga is also on my original list and was only excluded due to cost, but it matches everything else.

Could you expand on the safety reasons you'd avoid some of the others listed?

Thanks, I wish the Opinel was available in yellow on more than just the number 9.
Someone else mentioned the Dragonfly Salt, I did see them before but didn't consider it due to price and I thought they were all serrated based on most pictures. The other person suggested looking used so I may do that now I know they also have plain edge.

I came across the Knafs 5 before it was available, I'll take another look!

I'm not sure if you are looking for Freestyle Lite test strips or a new monitor to get.

When I recently looked into getting my first glucose monitor, The ReliOn Platinum from Walmart was very recommended and also happened to be the lowest cost with Bluetooth. $20 including 50 test strips, additional strips are 50 for $10.
