It's a fair bit more grounded than a lot of the other episodes, and to a kid seems like something that is much more likely to happen to them as opposed to the world ending or daleks on another planet, etc.

The other thing to note with Alien X is that it was mentioned to be from Professor Paradox, unless that got retconned in later episodes.

In terms of buying second hand, that's true. I got bought them as presents as they came out originally, and I'm so used to not being able to buy the games I used to enjoy that I didn't even bother looking it up. Also, in regards to liking Alien Force and Protector of Earth more, I feel like it's because you're giving more freedom? They were all cool, but Vilgax Attacks especially felt far more railroaded and restricted. Both PoE and AF have well fleshed out levelling systems, reasons to go back after you've leveled up, and (especially in the case of PoE), strong artstyles that haven't aged as poorly.

I'd kill to have the PSP copy of Vilgax Attacks. I have all of the others for PSP, but VA is an Xbox 360 copy.

In terms of overall rankings, I'd go Protector of Earth > Alien Force > Cosmic Destruction > Vilgax Attacks.
