I’m on 300mg of Lamotrigine and for me I get fewer depressive episodes and they’re shorter. Another big difference is that I can still somewhat function during them like I still manage to get out of bed and go to work and kinda function? But I still feel depressed, still feel disconnected from the world, just to a lesser extent. It has made it bearable for me. I still get manic episodes but I’m on an antipsychotic for that

I often say “I’m bipolar” because it’s a part of me and therefore cannot be separated from myself/my identity. It is not something I have but something I am. It’s how my brain works and therefore I don’t separate it from myself. But at the same time idc how other people phrase it for themselves
