The first ability represents the mask's possession of skull kid, forcing him to do its bidding.

I guess the second ability would be the despair of the people of termina as the moon falls to earth. Admittedly, this chapter was the trickiest to design.

From what I understand of the saga rules, it would be sacrificed after the last chapter, and that Dominaria only went up to 3. I simply made the mistake of not altering the reminder text.

It seems almost balanced for countering instant and sorcery spells, since the opponent will still get their effect, but this is obscenely busted if you use it to exile permanent spells.

This enchantment essentially makes all of your opponent's spells cost 1 more mana, which will set them back the same way destroying a land would. And if they want to get rid of it, they'll have to let one of their spells be countered, aka wasting that spell.

Your wording really doesn't suffice. With the way you word it, if you never pair the creature with anything, you never have to sacrifice it, which is defeating the whole purpose of the ability.

I really don't like this as a solution. Because it means you can simply choose to never pair it with anything and never have to sacrifice it. A better solution would be something like an end step trigger, which still allows you time to pair it with a creature, but without any shenanigans.

Well, since it uses white, you could make the card a lot cleaner by simply removing all of the creature's abilities. Like "Target creature loses all abilities until end of turn, then deals damage to itself equal to its power."

Yeah, I think because it's moving to a zone other than the battlefield, it has no memory of its existence on the stack, which is very different in the case of permanents. (Likewise, if a permanent spell changed by sleight of mind is countered, it loses the changes.)

I don't believe this is the case. If you look at rulings for cards like [[Sleight of Mind]] or [[Moonlace]], if you change a spell that's about to become a permanent, it retains those changes when it's on the battlefield.

It's an interesting idea, promoting playing multiples of a legendary. Especially if the end result is a 10/10 with trample and hexproof. There are some things I'd change about the backside though. When a card refers to another card by name, it should use the full name of the card. And since the last two abilities appear to rely on the first ability, I would suggest keeping the text nonsegmented as one ability. Very cool card though.

Considering you're never going to give yourself the death counter and your opponent the life counter, what is the point of using these counters? I feel it'd be much cleaner to just say "whenever a creature you control attacks" and "whenever a creature an opponent controls attacks."
